PLEASE READ, DIGEST AND FORWARD TO OTHERS

By the dawn, by the ten nights (Al fajr, 89: 1-2)

According to the prophet, there are no days greater in the sight of Allah and in which righteous deeds are more beloved to Him than these ten days, so during this time recite a great deal of Tahlil, Takbir and Tahmid.

PROFITABLE DEEDS AT THIS PERIOD

1. FASTING, especially on the ninth day

2. QURAN, read as much as you can

3. NAWAFIL, increase in nawafil prayers.

4. TAKBIR, it is sunnah to say takbkr, tahmid, tahlil and tahmid during this period.

5. PERFORMING HAJJ AND UMRAH, if you can afford.

6. SINCERE REPENTANCE, Allah forgive most during this period.

7. PRESERVE THE TIES OF KINSHIP, it is great in the sight of Allah.

8. SACRIFICE, it is the best a Muslim can do on Eid Al-Adha day.

9. DOING MORE GOOD DEEDS IN GENERAL, the prophet said, whoever is not able to offer Hajj should occupy himself at this blessed time with acts of worship, offering prayers, reading the Quran, remembering Allah, making supplications, giving in charity, showing dutifulness to parents, maintaining the ties of kinship, enjoining what is good and forbidding what is bad.

CONDITIONS OF SACRIFICE

1. The time for offering a sacrifice begins after Eid Al-Adha prayer and remains in effect until sunset on the 13th day of Dhul Hijjah

2. One sacrifice is sufficient for one household (family)

3. The types of animal that can be slaughtered are (goats, sheep, cows and camels).

One goat, lamb or sheep is on behalf of one household, but seven people can share in offering one camel or one cow.

4. The animal should have reached the required age, which is six months for a lamb, one year for a goat, two years for a cow and five years for a camel.

5. The animal should be free of any fault.

6. It is forbidden to sell the sacrifice

7. The meat of the Udhiyah (sacrifice) should be divided into three equal portions, one for oneself and the family, one for friends and relatives, and one for the poor and needy.

It is strongly encouraged that the one who intends to give the Qurbani (sacrifice) does not cut his or her nails, starting from the first day of Dhul Hijjah up until after the sacrifice.

It is recommended for a Muslim to slaughter the sacrifice by himself as the prophet (SAW) did. If he does not, there is consensus that there is no sin.

A Muslim should adorn himself/herself for Eid and wear his/her best clothes as the prophet was recorded to wear the best of his wears for Eid.

NOTE that the sacrifice is a way of getting closer to Allah, increasing in piety for Him and thanking Him for subjecting all the beasts of cattle for us, as such, Muslims should celebrate consciously within the teachings of Islam, celebration should be moderate as taught by Islam and not imitate the unbelievers in their way of worship or life. Muslims do give thanks and not transgress, haram substances like alcohol and its like shouldn't be taken in the name of celebration.

Lastly, the global pandemic is still alive, we pray Allah uses this period to heal us, heal our land from all forms of diseases and viruses, avoid gatherings (religious inclusive) as this is the only medium to prevent it for now, Ridmon Eid will be closed, pray at home with your family and be conscious of your safety.

May Allah accept your supplications, grant us the best in this life and hereafter, forgive the deads and not make this year our last on earth. Aameen

The chief imam of Ridmon, Alhaji shaykh Muhd Jamiu O Abd Azeez has directed all members to observe their Eid nawafil at their respective homes as Ridmon will not hold any congregate, this is in compliance with government directive.

Let it be noted that adhering to government directive and that of our religious leaders is part of the teachings of our religion

BRIEF ABOUT RIDMON

RIDWANULLAH MISSIONARY ORGANISATION OF NIGERIA (RIDMON) established in 1990 with Headquarters in Lagos State Nigeria @ 21, Oluwakemi Street, Ikorodu, Lagos State is an off-shoot of a local mosque built by Alhaj AbdulAzeez Odufuwa (a Chief in Ikorodu) in 1992.
The members of the mosque on initiative by the mosque builder later formed themselves into an organized group as above mentioned.

Goal: To contribute to the propagation of Islam using every means acceptable to Islam and temporal laws.

Aims & Objectives:
Out of a lot;
a. Promote social justice and security among members through welfare programmes that will improve standard of life of members.
b. Expose the beauty of Islam that members can apply the tenents to all aspects of their lives.
c. Ensure that members and Muslims in general appreciate the Qur'an and Hadith by imbibing their teachings.
d. Work towards becoming a global Organization that will contribute to global peace, progress and harmony.etc

At moment the Organisation is growing with a plan to have branches in Nigeria and the world over.
