💥 2 Hotty and Z’s Beat Down
- This past Thursday night I was able to sneak out right before closing and do a sit to scout out a spot for Friday morning. In that 1.5 hour sit I saw exactly what we needed to see with birds just pouring into the area we were going to hunt. Friday morning, we got to the launch fully expecting multiple boats but…… Nobody was there nor did anyone show up. Weird!

-We threw 60 decoys, 2 spinners and a agitator and we predicted the birds would want to utilize a channel upwind of a pond as a route to pull off or roll out of the spread about a mile from the launch. This was 100% accurate as the birds ALLLLLL squared up on the channel.

-We passed some shot opportunities we probably shouldn’t have as birds were just working too hard for us to be poking at any. We ended with an amazing hunt, quite a few feet down opportunities, a band, and memories for a lifetime.

💥We predicted the results of a heavy north, and were rewarded. We let wayyyyy too many birds work within 40 yards for wayyy too long today but we wanted feet down or nearly feet down before the guns went up. Easily could have had more if we poked at em while they worked but for us it’s about the experience not the limits. 65 decoys, one spinner, and the know how of what birds do in that marsh on certain winds is what paid off for us.

💥Tried a new to me hike in spot and didn’t leave empty handed. No mallards flying, few geese, and enough woodies to grab one from the sky. Leaving the boat home for a hike in adventure sure is fun.

Lifetime Decoys
✅Wigeon
✅Open water with a 8-12mph wind

We all see a lot if “marketing schemes” all pre season but I will toot their horn with this one. These decoys moce 10x better than any other decoys I’ve ever seen in my life. I’m not saying you need to have an entire spread of them, but I am saying you need to have a few in every spread because this type of motion is far more life like than any out there.

Note: I walked away about 300 yards and you could see these decoys moving aggressively from that far out no problem. Just crazy!

Don’t forget, Sherper's here in SE WISCONSIN is your hands on Lifetime Deciy dealer!

💥Blown away!!!
🦆American Black Duck
-Today I was able to sneak out to Mason Creek Taxidermy and pick up 1 of 5 trophy ducks I harvested last season. I must say and nobody can deny, this bird is beyond any mint rated expectation. Just blows my mind how pretty this bird is.

Thanks again John Madson.
You’ve outdone yourself.

Wisconsin Northern Opener 2021 - OFF THE X 27/09/2021

💥2021 Northern Opener is in the books. I told myself about 4 years ago I’d start hitting new towns and new areas instead of my “safe bet easy limit” northern spot. I’ve kept that promise even though hunts like this past weekend really make me want to go back the easy route. Looking forward to whatever town I pick next year!

💥Integrity and Respect

We as hunters owe it to every single animal at the least to respect the life you take, and the integrity to follow through with your harvest.

Saturday afternoon, we had a 2 pack of honk nasties come straight over the top 25-30 yards and decided to take the shot. I hit mine hard, he dropped about 10 feet and locked his wings out and coasted over 500 yards across the marsh, and swam another 164 yards away. I immediately got in the water and marched out all 664 yards to retrieve this bird. Yes, I dropped a pin exactly where I stood when I grabbed him and a pin where I shot.

The law states “it is illegal to kill or cripple any game bird without making every reasonable effort to retrieve such game bird.”

You owe that animal the same respect you owe your family. THE END!

Well…..

The cold snap in the middle of the night took our hundreds and made them singles as the big flocks rolled out in the middle of the night…..

Definitely still had fun with Chase McCulloch, Scott McCulloch ( 2 hottie ) and Tom Perry.

Can’t wait for big ducks baby!!!
