Matchy matchy matchy ❤️ We called this tiny room the “Mother in Law Suite.” It was actually way more - an office, a laundry room, and the perfect place to curl up with a coffee and the paper on a Saturday morning (or wine and a laptop on a Saturday night)! 📸

Thank you for posting we loved working with you and your talented team! • This countryside home situation in Greenville, DE with sweeping views of the valley stream and ponds below, fit the needs of the clients who wished to live less formally upon moving from the city. Large, windowed rooms were situated around the house to take advantage of both the long views into the landscape and more intimate glimpses into its surrounding gardens.

Back to work! Manic Monday Another Monday and I’m thinking of this happy home office for a lovely, avid gardener client in Newport Beach. The nasturtium paper was perfect as it echoes the same flower growing just outside the window. The nasturtium vintage tole chandelier was kismet! 📸

We are accepting submissions for the 3rd Biennial Trumbauer Awards! Today we are looking back at 2018 winner John Canning & Company for their work on Luzerne Courthouse in the Fine Art category.

This neoclassical structure (c. 1906) was designed in the cruciform style by Frank J. Osterling. Replete with various materials including botticcino and white Italian marble, bronze, murals, and simulated mosaics, the decoration and gilding make it one of the most ornate county courthouses in Pennsylvania. Decades of water damage, mold, mildew, and poor repairs made preservation a high priority.

Our project focused on the rotunda dome, rotunda proper, 3rd floor corridors, and South lobby. Detailed analysis took place to determine conditions and conservation treatments of all 125 murals and to establish the original historic color palette. Deteriorated areas of flat and ornamental plaster mouldings were restored using the same original plaster materials. The historic color palette was reinstated. The marble features and flooring were carefully cleaned, conserved and repaired where joints had deteriorated. Bronze torchieres, railings, and ornamental features were conserved and cleaned. Key partners included A+E Group and Luzerne County Engineering, Management & Operations.

We love summer homes. Summer getaways are precious moments to be treasure! By far the most frequently asked question I get about my home is what the paint color is in the living room, dining area, and kitchen. I have typed the answer on my phone so many times that when I put in “Be”, “Benjamin”, then “Moore”, then “Brittany” and “Blue” automatically pop right up! (It is about the only thing autocorrect gets right! 😉)
If you want to know more about the easy method I used to choose the blue paint colors to create a cohesive flow throughout the downstairs, then head to my brand new blog (!!), mollyinmaine.com, and read my latest post! Link to the blog is in my bio!
Maddie and I look forward to seeing you over on the blog! 💙💙
