June's newlsetter!

It's June!☀ Just an update from my newsletter in April: my in-laws are finally home. Both have tested negative for COVID-19 several times before they decided they had to come home to finish recouping. Let me tell you, if you have not seen this personally, it's ugly.  It really took a toll on them both, but we ...

🎉Big news. I thought long and hard about an opportunity that could help stress my love of reading and learning. I wanted to be with a company that held the same beliefs I did. I grew up being a voracious reader and have brought up my children to love reading as well. Literature is so important.

📚Therefore, I have joined Usborne Books in order to spread this love of literature. As a homeschooling mom, I use these books to teach, to inspire, and to have fun. I couldn't be happier. Here's to another chapter in the journey of an editor!🥂

Why we must read 19th-century US books like ‘Little Women’, ‘Leaves of Grass’ to get modern America 20/05/2020

I love this list! Little Women is my favorite book of all time. I love how it was written and how beautifully it flows. How many of these have you read? I am making it a goal to read all of them this year. As our country is splitting, some days faster than others, maybe this is a great time to learn from the past.

Txtng is killing language. JK!!! Does texting mean the death of good writing skills? John McWhorter posits that there’s much more to texting -- linguistically, culturally -- than it seems, and it’s all good news.
