(Please excuse the untidy bathroom, I’m about to do housework but thought I’d share this first) One of the things we have started doing recently is trying to reuse water where possible. We have a big tub in our shower to collect the water that comes out of the tap while we wait for the hot water to come through, & also any extras that it happens to catch through our showers.
We then take the water out side & at the moment, we are just watering our grass. As water restriction are becoming more common in Australia, this is definitely something that most people can do. Eventually the water will go to our plants instead of grass.
It is important to make sure you are using shower products that are suitable to use in your yard, & also to make sure if anyone is ill etc that you don’t use the water until everyone is better.

The basics of this page are based on the ethics of permaculture. The three ethics are: Earth Care, People Care and Fair Shares. They are not exclusive to permaculture and were derived from the commonalities of many worldviews and beliefs. They are therefore shared by many throughout the world.

I'm sure there is much more detailed info but the basics of each of the 3 ethics to my understanding are that each one is important but no more important than the other & they all need each other to work.

*Earth Care....the care of the earth in all areas.
This includes the care of the dirt, water air etc. This care is preformed buy not over using the ground, recycling nutrients back into the earth in a natural way(without artificial fertilisers etc, using water wisely, reducing our footprint buy consuming wisely (which is a whole conversation on its own) etc.

*People Care.....The care of people which includes needs such as food, shelter, education, health, jobs, money etc

*Fair Shares....to me means a few things,
It means everyone should have a fair share, but also that everyone needs to contribute a fair share, to get their fair share. It means you share what you have in excess with others who don't have any or enough, particularly people who are older or maybe unwell.
Also that if everyone lived by fair share, there would be enough of everything for everyone. (I know thats a perfect world but everyone who does this is contributing to "Inspire a Better World"

We are a family living in South East Queensland Australia & want to make a difference to our footprint in the world. (Im sure most of this will be useful around the world) We currently live in a rental house, & try to do things without big costs.

I will be sharing what we are doing in our lives to try to reduce our impact on the world & do things to improve where we can.

I will share posts/news/articles etc from places online & events happening around the world.
There will be ideas & info for all sorts of things from better water usage, healthier gardens(including pollinators etc), recycling, diet, community etc.

Hopefully we can all do a little bit in our own homes that makes a difference to our lives & the world in general.
