Today we got together for a Coronation Celebration Party.
A great time was had by all with food, fun and games, music from Diana Denny, the handing out of souvenir mugs, and a commemoration photo.

This weekend saw the parish come together to celebrate the Queens Platinum Jubilee.
Events started off with a bonfire and barbecue at The Grange by kind permission of Tim & Lynne Wells. A great evening was had by all, and many stayed long enough to see the lighting of the Kirkby Stephen beacon on Nine Standards Rigg.
Proceedings moved to the beautifully decorated Village Hall today where William Sewell gave the loyal toast, then afternoon tea was enjoyed by all.
This was followed by a community sing-along, a themed picture quiz, and games of croquet, quoits, boules, and a giant jenga in the hall field.
Those who didn't fancy braving the chilly weather stayed indoors and caught up on the craic with old friends and new.

Many thanks to the parish council and parish institute committee for organising and putting on these events.

Today saw the parish get together to both commemorate and celebrate Remembrance Sunday, and the centenary of Armistice Day 1918.
We heard about the four young lads who left the parish to fight for King and Country, but never returned. Prayed for the fallen from all conflicts.
This was followed by tea, and a sing-a-long of songs from the period. And ended with some light hearted games of bingo.
An enjoyable time was had by all.

2018 Duck Race

05/08/2018

Conditions were excellent for spectating, but a little bit calm for the ducks at the annual Musgrave Duck Race and Barbecue.
The race was run at a very relaxed pace, and with some of the early pace setters deciding to turn tail and swim back upstream thanks to a slight headwind.
The first duck to cross the line was number 102 backed by Kevin Hanna.

The prize winners were numbers :-
1st. 102. Kevin Hanna
2nd 78. Emma Proctor
3rd 125. Jackie Featherstone
