I decided to make brand Wednesdays a thing, so here's my project! The idea behind this is that I'll set a specific criteria and then work to create a brand within that criteria and explain why I went that route.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Today's brand is a clean, minimalist makeup line called BARE⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
To differentiate your brand from others in a saturated market, I first start off with using the unique characteristics of your particular product to speak for itself.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
BARE's characteristics:⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
- Lightweight makeup, feels more like a moisturizer⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
- Clean, no harsh chemicals⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
- Main ingredients are botanical⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
- Fit to match every skintone⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
How I designed the brand and logo:⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
- I chose a minimalist theme to represent the no-fuss, clean ingredients within the makeup itself. The logo itself shouldn't take away from seeing the product it's placed on, so no solid color background here.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
- Minimalist flower at the top of the logo represents the main ingredients being botanical⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
- The brand name: BARE is great for SEO when people are doing searches for "bare makeup". This is strategic brand marketing. This name also represents the lightweight formula, producing a "bare" skin makeup look.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
- The slogan + brand name "BARE: Hardly There" is a great catchy phrase for marketing and something that people can easily catch on to and remember.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
- The overall design of the logo has a natural feel to it by using curved outlines, clean, thin text and line drawings. This encompasses the minimalist branding for this product.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Between looking for a new house for the past 3 weeks (P.S. - the market is HOT, people! 🥵), figuring out how to get our current house rent-ready, my full time job which has been craaazy busy lately, planning our wedding for the 2nd time, and starting this new business, I have been all over the place and finally decided to give myself permission to step back when I need to.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Even as a POC myself, I have NEVER experienced an encounter in my life that has ever made me feel less-than because of the color of my skin. However, this is the norm for so many men and women in our society today. In 2020. This has gone on long enough.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

I pray that the atrocity that has recently occurred can shed light on the unconscionable and reprehensible actions that occur every day around the world due to racism. If you believe that this issue is rooted solely in law enforcement, you are wrong.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

If you believe this issue has nothing to do with you, you are wrong.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

It starts with how you raise your children, it continues with what you let them get away with, and it escalates because the rest of the world stays silent. Because they believe the issue has nothing to do with them.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

These riots that have resulted in recent days are the product of a society that has been mistreated by a tyrannical and oppressive law enforcement in which very little has been done to execute justice of its wrongs.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

I pray for all of those who have been directly affected, all of those who are risking their freedoms and security to make a stand, and all of those who live with fear on a daily basis because of the color of their skin in moderntimes.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
