Sometimes you gotta just say the thing….
Resist to Exist & Exist to Resist.
Unfortunately more often than not, therapists who suck at what they do follow a specific script. They give you “tools” that have been passed down to them from lord knows what GOD forsaken institution they graduated from 10 years ago….me, bitter? NEVER. The mindfulness self care script, has got to go. Do the f**k better. Read the room, our world as we know it is on fire it’s more than just “sad stuff”.
Therapy during a Jan-O-CIDE may look like…..
She said “violence is not the answer, I would stay oppressed”…………..
Gentle reminder it is for this reason that I created a 🍉 therapy fund, to ensure we recieve adequate care during this time.
Want to support 🍉 therapy fund? Link in bio….
May is mental health awareness month. Help me in prioritizing the mental health of Palestinians.
27:10.
Friendly reminder your purpose is supposed to be bigger than your self concept if you didn’t know now you do….
Lessons from the Quran part 1…..
But didn’t you know….it’s all connected….
The Quran be knowing…..
When you can’t find the words….time to do some time travel and dig deep in the archive.
Duality….
We got you.
What does resistance look like to you? I invite you to sit with this word, to freely explore it and write out your thoughts. Let’s redefine it together.
This one right here is a truth I revisit often.
I invite you to sit with this truth for a bit and think about how you’ve been overly identifying with your emotions.
An example of overly identifying sounds like this:
“I’m a sad person”
“I’m depressed”
“I’m anxious”
“I have anger issues”
“I’m lethargic”
“I’m ___________” fill in the blank with whatever it is your overly identifying with!
Caption: You are not the emotion, you are the awareness.

Here are two truths that can coexist. You can have compassion with a person and or situation and still say no to it.
As a Muslim owned practice I wanted to do something special for my community on this blessed month, I kept going back and forth with myself not sure what would be worthy of being hosted. I realized that I wasn’t practicing what I preach(create and release) so I decided to run with the idea!
In honor of the last ten days of Ramadan, I’ve invited Linnie founder of to lead a mindfulness based practice that focuses on the breathe to cultivate an internal sense of awareness.

How’s this people pleasing thing working for you? When do you find yourself succumbing to it? How often do you say or do things you don’t want to do simply to appease those around you?
I invite you to sit with those questions and examine whether you want to stay on this treadmill of people pleasing.
Msg to POC it’s ok to be exhausted and not want to explain yourself in therapy-that’s what Sane in the Membrane provides a space in which you can exhale.
As a POC you may or may not have attempted therapy, you may or may not have found the right fit, you may have felt misunderstood, or like you had to overly explain yourself in order to provide context to your therapist, this can oftentimes be taxing. It is for that very reason that I founded and created a private practice that is dedicated to addressing those of us who have been neglected and misunderstood in therapy.
You deserve culturally competent services. Look no further fam, we got you!
What is your perception of yourself? What if your perception of your product? How much of this perception dictates the way you show up and what you allow yourself to create and release?
Have you for a moment considered why this perception reigns supreme? What would your world look like if your perception of yourself and your creative work didn’t matter?! What types of risks would you take?
You may resist this concept, and that is ok. I invite you to sit with it for a moment and begin to imagine what your world would look like if your perception of yourself didn’t dictate your next steps.
Ramadan fasting fantasy: my train of thought is sharp, I’m articulate, I’m floating in spirituality and marching to the beat of my own tune.
Ramadan Reality be like: incomplete sentences, thoughts of peanut butter, anger and resentment about something I didn’t say five years ago, poking and prodding at my life choices and decisions.
I invite you to have compassion with yourself during this month. There’s a lot of judgment we place on ourselves in terms of how we show up in the world as Muslims fasting during Ramadan. Not enough emphasis on the fact that we too are human, and we may not be functioning at a 💯 right now, and that is ok.
Permission to think of peanut butter granted!
What’s up with this deflecting thing we tend to do?
Repeat after me “I will not dim parts of myself so that we can chill”.
Thinking about doing the thing can be intoxicating because your not fully taking a risk and your also not abandoning the thing your keeping it at arms length, notice how you describe it to yourself and to others.
I’m loving that your loving these 7 day one minute challenges so I made another own! ENJOY!
In a world of shoulds let’s take a moment to BE.
How to meet our needs-let’s start with the body!
I got mine, I wish someone would ask me where I’m from with this hoodie on 👀❤️🐪
Let’s put the Western lens down for a minute. Healing happens in community spaces far quicker than it does in individualistic spaces. Let’s normalize healing through and with a chosen community instead of this nonsensical individualistic mindset. I said what I said!
How do I show up for myself?
Gotta p*e? Go p*e!
