Singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist Fousheé reflects on the biggest year of her life in this episode of Making It. She blew up during the pandemic via a vocal sample that went viral on TikTok after being used in a rap song, but quickly proved that she had everything it takes to be a force in music for the long term. Deb Never has been one of our favorite artists since she emerged in 2019 with a grungey, honest, alt-pop sound. The singer-songwriter and producer grew up in the Pacific Northwest, but after moving to Los Angeles she found creative partners in the WEDIDIT collective. Since then, she's collaborated with the likes of BROCKHAMPTON, Dominic Fike, and Kenny Beats, and in September she released an impressive new, EP Where Have All The Flowers Gone. For the new season of Making It, we talked to Deb Never about growing up an introvert, Asian-American representation, and a love of music that has been there since before she could even walk.

Omar Apollo is a first-generation Mexican-American artist who is taking off with a sound that channels jazz, R&B, funk, soul and pop music. It wasn't too long ago that Omar was working at McDonalds, but, inspired by The Internet's album 'Ego Death,' he taught himself to play guitar, sing, and record. Now, the DIY pop star has toured America twice with the childhood friends who make up his band. In 1970, legendary jazz composer and trumpeter Miles Davis performed a set using electrified instruments with a group of musicians at the Isle of Wight music festival. This documentary presents the entire concert, along with context about Davis' controversial decision to move away from acoustic instrumentation in 1968. Guitarist Carlos Santana is among those testifying to the musician's influence, while scholar and jazz critic Stanley Crouch argues that going electric ruined Davis' music.
