Enjoy this sneak peak at one of the new products I've been working on developing this week. ๐ป I usually wait to share a product after I've made the listing available for purchase online...but this week has been all about respecting the process.
What I usually don't share is the hours of research, trial and error, experimentation, and refining processes that occur before you see the final product. This week has been primarily dedicated to working with candle molds. And man, did I learn a lot. (Those of you who have experimented with making pillar candles know how much of an understatement that is. ๐น)
This was the first testing of the filagree skull aromatherapy candle. When making a new product like this one, my process usually looks something like this: Concept->Research->Design-> Prototype->Testing->Refine.
This was the first testing phase. From here I refined the process to ensure that each candle gets a clean, even burn every time.
Because I choose to use only 100% organic plant based ingredients, (specifically the use of organic essential oils instead of artificial fragrance oils) my processes tends to be much more challenging and expensive. But I am so dedicated in offering sustainable, eco friendly aromatherapy and topical use products, that it is totally worth the challenge in the end once I perfect my process. It feels like alchemy at times.
We want you to feel good knowing that the candle you are burning offers real (scientifically backed) benefits to your state of mind through aromatherapy, is safe and physically beneficial for topical use and is safe for the environment.
These skull filagree candles are made with 100% organic soy wax , cotton wicking, and essential oils. Even the color you see here is cosmetic grade mineral pigment, so it is just as safe to use directly on your skin as our traditional soy container candles. ๐ฅฐ And because every ingredient is plant based, there are absolutely no plastic or chemical components in the final product.

Making an infused oil using the cold method with cayennes we grew from heirloom seeds and dried from last summer's harvest. ๐ถ๐ถ๐ถ In 4-6 weeks this oil will be loaded with capsaicin and will be used for its amazing anti-inflammatory properties. ๐

Happy full Wolf moon! To honor the first full moon (in Leo) of 2021, I am making shungite & amethyst infused moon water elixir. โจ๐โจ
Amethyst is best known for its soothing properties; it can relieve stress, promote balance, and dispel negative emotions such as fear and anxiety. It also enhances metaphysical abilities and promotes an openess of intuition.
Shungite is a miracle stone. It can destroy harmful pathogens and naturally purfies water and reduces oxidative stress, infusing antioxiant properties along with many other amazing benefits, such as the ability to sheild again st EMF emissions. Shungite is also known to dispel negative energy and balance emotions.
This full moon in Leo is a great time to meditate on what you want out of the new year and symbolizes creative self expression, as well as the conquering of light over darkness as the days grow longer.
I am excited to use this amazing moon elixir to embody the magick of this wolf moon to create more cleansing and smudging tools in the near future. โจ๐โจ

Warm your home or office with this cozy blend of Ginger, Cinnamon Bark, Vanilla, Nutmeg, Clove Bud, and Cardamom. This candle is made with 100% USDA certified organic essential oils and organic soy wax. This blend is completely safe to use on your skin as yummy moisturizer when melted as well.

We took full advantage of the full Harvest Moon last night to brew up some special goodies for the Bohemian Market this weekend! This Harvest Moon is special, as it is considered especially potent for culmination, or a literal time to "harvest" your personal power, amibtions, and goals.
You can use this energy to take steps in transforming your world and releasing that which does not serve you, and to deliberately set your intentions for whatever it is you want out of this life. This full moon is particularly special because of how close it falls to the Autumnal Equinox--also a time to honor the abundance that you have in life, and to shift your consciousness from one of lacking to one of prosperity.
This full moon is in Aries, represented by the element of fire, so we thought it was a perfect time to embrace this element and this lunar energy by brewing our new Autumn line of wood wick candles. Blessed be, and happy autumn! ๐ฅ๐

We are absolutely STOKED about our new logo! Same brand, new and improved look! Sarah ( .is.roxii ) is an amazing babe with a sweet set of skills. She truly brought our vision to life.
The universe, or cosmos, communicates through symbolism and sacred geometry. Our "go to" phrase to breifly describe our mission is "As above, so below." Essentially, this means that everything is connected--the cosmos and the body exists as a harmonious unity. The Microcosm (the part, or self) is reflected in the Macrocosm (the whole, the complex, the universe). The microcosm is a smaller, contrasting, representative part of of whole of the macrocosm.
At Green Flame Apothecary, our mission is to provide you with sustainable, 100% natural, organic products that you can feel safe about putting in, on, and around your body, while also feeling great about the minimal carbon footprint our packaging leaves behind. By taking care of the microcosm in a natural and organic manner ( aka your mind, body, and spirit, or trifecta) you can also feel better about how you are influencing the macrocosm (in this case, sustainability on our beautiful planet.) This is how a revolution of consciousness begins--mindfulness of how you treat your trifecta, and the planet we call home.
In the roots of this Celtic tree, you will find triquetras, which symbolize the trifecta, and are also represented and reflected in the branches. As above, so below. The silouette represents Gaia, or mother earth/divine feminine goddess energy, standing with strength and balance in tree pose within the trunk--holding the green flame over her heart Chakra-an overflowing chi of unity, healing and compassion.

Processing dried Rosemary. So thankful for the beautiful people in my life who love plant medicine as much as I do. ๐ฟ๐ I do 99% of the work for Green Flame Apothecary by myself. It is my project, my vision, my dream.
We had friends visiting that weekend, but I had work to do--I had cleansed and dried pounds and pounds of rosemary the few days prior and it absolutely needed processing, and free time is something that is scarce for me between my day job and this endeavor. I was so humbled by my friends' decision to jump in and to help me get through the processing phase without being asked, and it was such a beautiful evening of women (and man) sitting cross legged in a circle over piles and piles of dried herbs, incense burning around us, music playing in the background, laughing and conversating as we plucked the leaves from the branches, separated leaves from stems, and bundled the branches for later use. This communal effort felt so anciently familar to me--the resonance moved me. It felt so...right. Old. Here and now. Ancestral. And timeless. I don't think I will ever NOT be in awe of the spiritual resonance I feel from moments like these when I am elbow deep in plant essences, especially encompassed in an intimate community.
That is my dream. One day, this will grow largely, so that I can incorporate others into this practice as well, and holistically, organically, grow a community to partake in and share in the benefits of plant medicine, within and outside of the community.
So mote it be. ๐๐ฟ๐

Wild Violets. ๐ Every spring our lawn blooms with them. We harvested a bunch and candied them, and left the rest for the bees. ๐
