Studio Kuumba
Co-created with Folk Artists
Celebrating and Reinventing Folk Art
Thank you for all your love on our first collaboration with the Warli community.
We are now a family of 48 Warlis — an inspiring bunch of emerging and experienced artists. Over the course of 3 workshops, we have added 300 unique Warli motifs and themes to our folk art library.
We set out to reimagine the stories told through the art form while retaining the Warli community’s traditions and culture. We’ve learned so much on the way, and we can’t wait to showcase the unseen talent of these communities.
TATTVA, our first collection of shirts, is almost down to its last few pieces. If you want to explore the world of Warli, get yourself a shirt on our website (or gift it to a folk art enthusiast you know).
A day on field with our collaborators and founder !
All our lovely design outcomes are a result of two-way dialogues, feedback sessions transparent discussions and chuckles with the artists!
It’s one of the things we love doing the most!
The peaceful locations are an added bonus ☀️
We all want to look and feel great about our clothes, and that should include feeling great about knowing under what conditions they were made. The well-being of the people involved and the environment are just as valuable, don't you think?
Conscious fashion encourages a more socially and environmentally responsible way of producing and consuming apparel and accessories.
