What a week SpeakLife has had. We did a training earlier this week on Trauma and the impact it has on the brain. We shared a lot of resources and techniques to help parents when dealing with children who have experienced trauma. We have to recognize that everyone’s healing journey is different and may take a short amount of time or a long amount of time. But we also have to recognize that it’s a process and we have to give grace and understanding at all times. We also have to give permission to ourselves and others around our feelings and moving through those. So remember as you go into your long weekend the things to do when working on your healing journey.

Lindsey H and I are leaning into this new season that’s approaching. We’ve been planning and scheduling new trainings and new events. So things were learning that we wanted to share with you. 1. Lean on your support systems. 2. Stay focused on your goals. 3. When you get knocked down get back up and stay determined. 4. Plan plan and plan! 5. Ask for help when you need it! After sharing these 8 ways to enhance and improve your life we are still focused on growth. We know that with everything going on in the world and our day to day lives changing every second we find ourselves faced with change which in turn leads to growth. In those seasons of change we must be grateful, even for small things we don’t even think about like breathing and our hearts beating. It is also during those times we have to clings to our hope and let it guide us through that season, and in the end realize everything is happening for a reason and we will be better for it in the end. 🌱

Wow talk about a heavy hitter here. We cannot become what we want by remaining what we are. Change is so hard for us sometimes. Others time we kind of just role with the punches. But when it comes to changing ourselves man that’s tough. But with growth comes change. When we evolve we create change within our own lives, within our circumstances, and that eventually ripples out and affects others. But knowing when and how to make adjustments is key. Let’s take the journey. Let’s talk about change. Let’s talk about evolving.
SpeakLifeCLT mission is simple. 1. Provide really good TREATMENT to anyone receiving mental health, substance abuse, or foster care services. 2. We want to ensure we are RESPECTING everyone we come into contact with whether it’s providing treatment, doing a training, or just interacting with others in our community. 3. EDUCATING others on the importance and recognition of the need for mental health/substance use/ and foster care treatment. 4. It’s vital that everyone feels EMPOWERED when dealing with all of life’s circumstances. 5. Being SOLUTION focused on all our endeavors and making sure we always leave others better than we found them.
This week has been a long one. And we want to talk about grounding. Tips for when you are feeling overwhelmed, anxious, nervous, or even exhausted. These are all activities that can help bring you back to center and help you focus on moving forward. Give it a try this weekend and see if any of these techniques help you stay grounded.
