🐰We had our first ‘play date’! This is Lola bunny.. such a cutie.

This is the first time we’ve had a bunny guest. I served them all treats, but it did not fo down quite as hoped for!

Squeak and Lola were curious, but mostly very cautious. Lola buried her face in her donut bed (her safe space).

Pippy was not at all interested.. yet he regularly visits the bunnies next door.

So he’s not the best host. He hid under the couch. We tried to hold our buns and introduce them. Then she tried to bite him!

We may tryin a neutral space.

Why Do Cats Wag Their Tails?

It was commonly believed cats wag their tails when annoyed.

However, that’s not entirely true.
Tail wagging is a language that can tell us how our cat is feeling.

‘Low flick’ - is usually an indication that they are unhappy and want to be left alone.

‘Low Wagging’, especially with tgeir ears pinned back and crouached low indicate they are afraid of something.

‘Quick swishing’ from side to side shows your cat is feeling playful and will often be followed by a pounce. They often do this when playing with toys or another cat.
Their ears may also point forward.

‘Short Quick Twitch’ of your cat’s tail usually implies indicates concentration. Perhaps you’ll see this when they’re sitting by the window watching a bird or tracking a small creature in the garden.

‘Fluffed up tail’ shows they fear they are in danger. Perhaps when confronted by a large dog, another cat or hear a sudden loud sound, like when you turn on the vacuum cleaner.

‘The quiver’ with their tail high in the air and the tip quivering, means that they’re excited to see you!
It’s a signal to you or other cats that they want to connect. They may purr, meow and rub up against you.

‘Tail wrap’, when they curl their tail around your leg, hand or neck, is a sign of love and affection. Our black cat used to wrap his tail around daughter’s waist when she was little. It’s such a cute gesture!

‘Waving tail while lying down’ usually means your cat is either unhappy or unwell. Check if they’re going off their food or show any unusual signs of behavior.
