Caught In Between

Caught In Between

CT singer-songwriter, est 1992. What are you caught in between?

25/07/2020

If you're in the CT area, I'll be playing outside at Tavern on Point tonight (7/25) from 8pm-11pm! πŸ•Ί you can DM them or call 203-693-2040 to reserve responsibly πŸ™

04/07/2020

Before I decided to start writing more originals and form Caught In Between, I would play cover gigs at bars, friends' houses, *random* people's houses, etc.

Here's some footage of that from the Fourth of July in 2016. Looking forward to the day when I can get back to playing in person. In the meantime, have a happy, healthy, and safe Fourth! πŸŽ‡

Taking today off from the live stream for Father's Day. Hope everyone has a good one! πŸ™

14/06/2020

Here's a highlight reel of clips from my last month. It's been a blast so far and I appreciate everyone who's been tuning in - you guys make this something to look forward to every week πŸ•Ί I'll be having my live stream tonight (6/14) at 8pm ET, hope to see ya there! 🀘

This past week has been a rollercoaster. Last Friday I went to a protest in New Haven where I stood and walked with people who shared the same fears and concerns but also the same hopes and dreams. A couple of days later, the viewers of my FB Live stream on Sunday helped raise $122 for Campaign Zero. Then on Monday the mayor of New Haven commits to . I'm thankful for the opportunity to be a part of a movement, but I also know the work doesn't stop there.

This song 'Skin' was motivated by everything going on - from the protests for legal justice, to the social movements such as calling for an end to racism and discrimination. We are all born with the skin we're living in - the only thing you can truly change is what you stand for.

These movements are doing just that and helping people to open their minds and hearts, and that is something I truly support and believe in πŸ™

Photos from Caught In Between's post 08/06/2020

Big thank you to everyone who tuned in tonight and especially those who donated. All told it was a $122 donation to Campaign Zero! πŸ™

03/06/2020

This is a song I'm working on, motivated by my empathy and sympathy towards and related social movements. The working title is 'Skin', and I hope its message is clear just after the first line πŸ™

---

Am I more than the skin I've been living in?
What are your opinions without a look within?

I've tried to change what they think,
"They're all the same"'s what they think,
I've tried to say, "Would you think?",
"I'm not the way that you think",

Cause I've tried to change what they think,
And "they're all the same"'s what they think,
But I've tried to say, "Would you think?"
"I'm not the way"-

02/06/2020

Here's a song that came to mind with everything going on in the US right now. It's a new month, and I'm hoping as a result some new changes come around πŸ™

Dedicating one of my favorite solos to my mom for Mother's Day πŸ’ I wouldn't be making music today if it weren't for her (and her Filipino karaoke machine πŸ˜‚) Hope everyone else had a good Mother's Day!

Today's - 'Dreaming Of You' by Selena 🎢

Belated Cinco de Mayo post, hope everyone had a good one. I figured this was a fitting song since almost everyone is in their rooms, and dreaming is about all you can do.

I don't see that as a bad thing - we do what we have to do and in the end this is the best course of action. At least I can still play music and share it with people like you through platforms like these, especially with the live offerings. Thanks again for following and listening πŸ™

04/05/2020

May the 4th be with you (and with me the next time I decide to cover a Spongebob song)

03/05/2020

(screamo warning): Happy May 3rd 🌺 To celebrate, here's a clip of my high school band that was aptly called The Third Of May. It was my first "real" band that lead to a lot of real experiences, and you never forget where you came from 🀘

Thanks again for tuning in to this past Friday's stream. I had a blast, and the engagement is what it's all about to me πŸ™ I'll be streaming again this upcoming Fri 5/8 at 8pm ET, cya there!

02/05/2020

29/04/2020

Here's a recap video to serve as a reminder that I'll be doing another live stream this Friday (5/1)! It was created by my good friend Ben Stoller and he really flexed his meme muscle with this one πŸ”₯

There's fewer greater feelings than inspiring others to create. I hope to see ya this Friday 5/1 at 8pm ET where I'll be playing more covers, originals, and as always taking your requests 😎🀘 And if you haven't liked the page already, be sure to do so to get reminders about the stream πŸ•Ί

I'll See You Again (original) | Tiny Desk 2020 submission 27/04/2020

Today I submitted my original song "I'll See You Again" to the NPR Music 2020 Tiny Desk Contest. It's a 2-minute song that serves as a message to my friends and family not to worry - we'll get to the day where we see each other again. Check it out on YouTube here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RfYbVeyEiew

I had a great time playing your song requests and hanging out this past Friday! Here's a short montage of some of my favorites. A little Shiny Teeth never hurt anyone 😎

I'll be streaming again next Friday (5/1) @ 8pm, playing covers, originals, and taking requests. Do keep the Nickelodeon suggestions coming πŸ˜‚πŸ•Ί

24/04/2020

Playing covers, originals, and requests!

23/04/2020

Even though it's a day late, I wanted to make sure I took the time to get outside and record this song for Earth Day yesterday. I must have been 9 years old when I first heard it in the DCOM 'Luck of the Irish' πŸŽ₯πŸ€β˜˜οΈ

I've been a fan of the tune ever since, and it especially resonates as I'm quarantined by myself and working from home every day from sunup to sundown. Going outside for a walk then can feel like entering a new world at times, a world I sometimes forget is waiting for us to get back to it as long as we respect it. And there's no song for me that encapsulates that feeling better than Woody Guthrie's 'This Land Is Your Land' 🌏

22/04/2020

A big thank you to everyone who listened to me play during the virtual open mic! I look forward to these every week as not only do I get to listen to some great music, but they're also one of the few times I get to see and meet new people. Looking forward to the next one πŸŽ™
