TMF in Mongolia - TMF director Mark Ludwig conducted a series of string masterclasses and a concert with students from the Mongolian State Conservatory and members of the Symphony Orchestra of the Mongolian State Philharmonic during the week of June 12th. The concert showcased the talents of the students who played works by Bach, Handel, Schubert, Halvorsen, and Walton. Their performances were truly inspiring.

We’ll meet songwriters, virtuoso pianists, opera singers, and cabaret artists and experience a vibrant program of works they composed, performed, and championed. Light in the darkness: This 1943 drawing from Terezín, titled "Hannukkah in the Attic,” was made by imprisoned artist Helga Weissova and shows Valtr Freud, manager of Children’s Home L410, lighting candles accompanied by song. In Terezin, Freud organized children’s festivals and directed performances on Jewish holidays.
