My semi experienced Monday night class had fun making eggplant rollatini, tomato bread soup, broccoli rabe and Campanella pasta, and ricotta cookies but had more fun eating everything and packing up leftovers we even had a newcomer for class this week. Hopefully she had fun and enjoyed her leftovers.
Everyone needs to learn how to flip a crepe. We had so much fun. Some had a lot anxiety at first but then really enjoyed their accomplishment. I can’t say that the crepe always ended in the pan but at least 99%of the time we had success and boy did we enjoy eating scrapelles
Wednesday night was ravioli night. Other menu items were chick pea soup with homemade noodles, and ricotta pie. Some of the students were ready to buy a pasta roller and ravioli forms so they could make their own at home.
For our final night, the class made an antipasto, pasta puttanesca, Bolognese rice pie, wedding soup and meatballs. Everyone enjoyed the hearing the history of pasta puttanesca. Lots of leftovers went home with everyone. See them all again in the fall.
My Thursday night class had a great time making ravioli last night. They also made chickpea soup with their homemade noodles and an Italian ricotta pie. Since the pie called for orange zest they also got introduced to an orange salad. That made my night because I love the orange salad. Everybody went home with a large share of leftovers and their own ricotta pies
What a great night with this class tonight- they learned how to make and roll gnocchi . Even though it was trying for some to accomplish the task they realize that it was worth the time when we sat down and ate our product. A couple of them ate things that they didn’t really like before (like eggplant) and couldn’t stop eating them at dinner. They also made some fantastic focaccia bread. We had a lot of laughs cant wait to see what happens next week
My Thursday group had their second class tonight. Menu consisted of fennel soup, gnocchi, eggplant Napolano, foccaccia, and ricotta cookies. Lots of fun learning to make and roll gnocchi but everyone seemed to master the technique. Lots of take home containers were filled with goodies.
Tonight I started a new beginners class and everyone really enjoyed themselves. We had a lot of laughs and I think they all learned a lot.

Ben & Sheila are having a pampered chef party. I can’t believe that they don’t have everything already but maybe Sheila wore some things out (if that is possible) from all that cooking that she does to feed Ben. If you want or need any pampered chef now is the time to place an order. Here is the link and don’t let the name fool you. He is Philip Carlson
