Hey everyone!
We passed 100 Likes and I just wanted to say thanks for those early "likers" who have joined this community! The inspiration behind this page is my girl, Roxy Cotton.
I've been finding pictures of other dumb dogs for content on this page, but truly I'd like to fill it with user content like yours. Share your dumb dogs with me and tell me their stories! I can't wait to see them!
Roxy Cotton (yes, the pun is intentional there) was my first dog once I ventured into the world as a young adult. I discovered her at a local animal shelter and she was the best behaved dog in the facility (boy did she have me fooled!). She was about 9 months old and I rescued her that day from a fate many dogs find themselves in at kill shelters.
This dog sure was trouble. She ate dirty socks, loofas from the bathroom (ever seen a 20 ft dog turd - it's crazy), carpet, plastic, you name it. I rarely had to mow because she would constantly clip the grass to induce vomiting or help her to digest the random objects she'd consume. We bought her toys to help with her bad habit but she was never interested in them. If we bought bones we'd have to hide them because she'd eat all of it in a sitting until she got sick.
Once she ate a soft-plastic tape measure that was a toy of my son's.
Did she shred it up? Nope, she swallowed it whole like a scene from Lady and the Tramp. That one required surgery because it got tangled in her intestines.
Roxy lived to be ~13 years and was sent to rest forever after complications following daily seizures.
She was the dumbest dog I ever loved and this page is dedicated to her!

Welcome to Dogs are Dumb
The purpose of this page is to honor the memory of Roxy and dumb dogs everywhere. These dumb dogs can’t live without us any more than we could live without them. Seriously, they really couldn’t, haha!
You can read more about Roxy’s story in my albums but in short, she was a rescue and the first dog I owned in adult-hood. She’s passed to the other side now (luckily it was old age and health issues and not her stupidity), so I’ve created this page to forever remember the dumbest dog I’ve ever loved.
I would also like to start a Facebook group about dumb dogs so that we can all share our dumb dogs and their stories with each other in a great community. See the sidebar for that.
A long-term goal of mine is to start a non-profit for “dumb dogs” that help with medical bills for rescue and shelter dogs and more if it can!
