With our busy days spent with many friends every day, it’s been a while since we last posted on Instagram. However, I couldn’t resist sharing this sweet surprise delivered to our center today💐

THANK YOU for your thoughtfulness and kindness. This gesture truly encourages us and fills us with pride for our work with children. It’s truly heartfelt💖

We created a self-portrait collage in the style of Picasso, while also incorporating background painting techniques inspired by Eric Carle.
The last week of our summer camp was wrapped up nicely, exploring the theme of 'All about Me'!

WG friends couldn’t be more proud that we displayed it through the window to show our masterpiece for all our neighbours and community🦜🕊️🪹🪺 Spreading our artistic vibe!

Happy Craft Friday!🎉

For early age classes, we usually open tables to invite the children and let them enjoy the art of their own choice and ways as open-ended & process art.

However, we are also having 1:1 “Craft Day” regularly because there are many benefits when children create crafts as well.

1. Feeling accomplishment with their own art works
2. Building confidence by finishing their whole process
3. Having an ownership in their activity times
4. Providing various experience to deal with many different kinds of textures and materials
5. Acquiring and developing fine motor skills
6. Feeling special connection with teachers by having 1:1 intensive interaction times
7. We still respect their own style to make it, so don’t teach them about output and just have many meaningful conversations to lead them into the world and about the process of their own idea to reveal it. That's why it looks all different like us :)✨✨✨

Paper Project!
Exploring all different kinds of paper.

Our toddler & preschool classes have successfully wrapped up our week of paper project.
We explored various kinds of paper such as coloured papers, transparency paper, sticky paper, paper noodles, korean traditional paper(Han-ji) feat. black ink and 3D paper house.

This project will come back again on our special project week to explore more about paper in the world :)

Have you ever heard about “STEM” education?
Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics
STEM is an approach to learning and development that integrates the areas of science, technology, engineering and mathematics. Through STEM, students develop key skills including: problem solving.
At Wonder & Grow, we don’t memorize math by sitting on the chair but we do hands-on learning to build, construct and structure as a team project inspired by STEM education.
Through our team activities, the children naturally brainstorm how to make sticks connected, design coloured bridges and how many pieces would be needed for building our house, tunnel etc.
They communicated to each other “Can I have one more stick? I want to make it longer. ” “Can I have two more balls for a door?” “Can you pass three red pieces?” “Here is a square for the window” and more!
Even at toddler stage, they made a wonderful teamwork by helping each other.
Yes, that’s how we learn through play :)

Our WG toddlers are really great at enjoying their self-reading times in our inspiring library✨
Self Selected Reading is a time for children to explore and read books independently at their own level. The goal of self-selected reading is to create an authentic opportunity for children to see themselves as competent and engaged readers.

It’s been a while since we posted our last feed!
Our WG friends have been having such busy times to be ready to greet our spring time enjoying nature theme and we also greeted many new friends who have joined our group! We are GROWING well🌱

Do you remember we jumped into the Dinosaur theme as an urgent plan in the middle of the month because our WG children led their curiosity and interest to fossils and dinosaurs naturally after exploring of insects?
The children at WG had a blast to explore the dinosaurs and fossils in many creative ways as inquiry based approach and hands-on learning.
We respect the children's natural curiosity!
They deserve to explore what they want🦖💚

We planted our beans in the bag to make it sprout after learning about the life cycle of plants. Cannot wait to move those to our pots after sprouting! Grows well like us🌱
