Tonight, we’re tasting not one but TWO New Orleans collaborations of thr Black is Beautiful Imperial Stout. First, we’ll try the version and also have a chance to chat with Scott Wood (the brewer) about beer things. Bring your questions. Then we’ll try the BIB made with Sweet Potato Crumble from Cafe Reconcile. We’ll also taste chocolate from with both beers to round out the experience.
8 pm Central, we’ll be jumping on DJ Ojay’s Afrobeats virtual party. If y’all have never experienced this, I highly recommend.

Last night we were talking up a storm about this Legit Snack, and maybe we were a bit loud...😞 Whoever is in charge of 2020 heard us, and it’s so sad to report that All Relation is shutting down their operations indefinitely, maybe even for good. 😭I’m hoping that this is not the start of a downward trend here in the craft brewing industry though there are definite predictions of it in the industry as a whole.

I’ll miss taking people to this place. They had the cutest bathrooms (I know, so odd to say but they were definitely a thing), and the overall esthetic of the brewery was just such a delight. The beer was a force to be reckoned with. My first AR beer was Pinky Ringz (that was full of peach in an unimaginably delicious way) but I’m firmly in the Legit Snack with some Spaghetti Models corner these days. The absolutely best part of this place was the staff. Each and every one a gem! We’ll miss y’all!

We were playing with that beer again, only this time, we were joined by Chris, the awesome chocolatier at Piety and Desire Chocolates. Lissen... he served up a chocolate that tasted like King Cake! 🤯 Life will never be the same. If you’re in NOLA, look him up and give his chocolates a try. And of course the Black Is Beautiful beer. 😋😋😋

Look at these gems! done did it now! And they will be on with us tonight to share some info on their chocolate as well as to enjoy tonight’s Black Is Beautiful Imperial Stout by x . Join us!

Can’t wait to see what bonbons 🍫 we’ll be trying with the Black Is Beautiful Imperial Stout 🍻 on deck tomorrow night. Secretly hoping for some loquat, but am confident the chocolatier will come up with some amazing combos! More info in the comments 🍻

So I had to try our featured Black Is Beautiful Imperial Stout 🍺 by x , part of a 1️⃣0️⃣0️⃣0️⃣➕ brewery global collaboration effort “to raise awareness for the injustices people of color face daily and raise funds for police brutality reform and legal defenses for those who have been wronged.” See blackisbeautiful.beer for more info.
This version is brewed with coconut 🥥 making it smooth and deliciously creamy, and has undertones of coffee and hints of chocolate 🍫 . I’m not big on sweets but before you know it, I’d plopped a huge scoop of vanilla bean ice cream 🍨 in it, making a total Bob’s-your-uncle version of a beer float! 😋 Join us this Thursday at 7pm Central Time as we dive into this beer with chocolate from the amazing New Orleans chocolatier (link is in bio).

My first virtual beer tasting was freaking awesome! We tasted the Black is Beautiful collaboration by x x and also had some amazing bonbons from to go with it. We’re gonna do this again next week because they asked for it. Join us! 🍻 @ New Orleans, Louisiana

Hey loves! Hope you’re all safe and doing well! WE’re not resuming tours just yet...New Orleans just slipped back into Phase 1a in response to COVID-19. 😞 That being said...
Check out this amazing Black is Beautiful Imperial Stout. This version has beautiful chocolatey notes and is so luscious on the tongue. 😋 Best thing is, you can probably find a version of this near you! There are now almost 1️⃣0️⃣0️⃣0️⃣ breweries worldwide that have joined this global collaboration‼️ Go to the link in our bio to learn more about where all the proceeds will be going and to find a participating brewery near you! Cheers!

Big Easy Beer Tours is proud to support in this craft brewing collaborative effort. The issue of police brutality is front and center right now and we are grateful for the eight Louisiana breweries that are participating in this collaboration so far. We hope more of our local breweries will join us in taking a stand and working to help find long term and lasting solutions to this issue.

Please click on the link in our bio for more info and also to find a participating brewery near you.

Electric Jellyfish. Voted best beer in Austin. I kinda like it! 🍻😘

He said: “What can beer do for you?” I said: “Beer soap! You ever tried it? The hops in beer are great for the skin and helping things like eczema and psoriasis. This batch had super luxurious suds for things like shaving and is super moisturizing because it’s loaded with olive oil, avocado oil, cocoa butter, and sweet almond oil. This batch was made with colloidal oatmeal and Guinness Extra Stout but smells like frankincense, cedar, and patchouli. Perfect for getting back to the earth and grounding in these turbulent times.” He tried it. He loved it!

Happy Star Wars Day! Such a nerd but glad for some humor today! Have a great day ahead! But don’t overdo it... 😂🍻

Photos from Big Easy Beer Tours's post 02/05/2020

It’s May 1st! We were hoping to be back out there enjoying our New Orleans breweries with our tour guests. Unfortunately, COVID-19 had other plans...😢

Please bear with us during this time. New Orleans is still under a Stay-At-Home order and it’ll take some time to figure things out even after that’s sorted. It’s likely our tour experience will need to change to align with the circumstances of this new reality, and we will share any major changes to come as soon as we can.

Meanwhile, be safe out there and support your local breweries and small business if you can. Cheers! 🍻 @ New Orleans, Louisiana

😁 Getting ready for a thing or two... Missing y’all but in the process of crafting more robust experiences for our tour and dinner guests.

Timeline photos 07/04/2020

Happy National Beer Day! Sucks that we can’t celebrate in a brewery somewhere but are thankful we can still find great local beer for this occasion. Cheers!

Timeline photos 03/04/2020

This feels like it was so long ago... Missing Elisha, Katie, and all the other awesome New Orleans brewery taptenders who always went out of their way to welcome our guests each and every time we stopped in.

Even though we are closed, local breweries are still open for pick up orders. Be sure to look them up and support the brewers that make all the delicious options out there, and the taptenders that so lovingly serve these potions. Cheers! 🍻

Timeline photos 25/03/2020

Well, we tried planting beer plants and that didn’t work out... so we’re planting an edible chakra garden. 🌱 Just like all the beautiful beer colors that we’ve had the pleasure of tasting, it’s gonna be great to have a whole range of different food colors. What are you doing with your social distancing time? ?

Timeline photos 16/03/2020

So we’re gonna be pausing for the next few weeks in light of all the precautions that the City of New Orleans and breweries in the city are taking. There’s no way we can provide the kind of experience that our tour guests like under these circumstances. We know these measures are for the best and we are happy to cooperate in any way that slows the spread of this virus.

Stay tuned for info on when we plan to resume tours. Meanwhile, we hope you’ve stocked up on your favorite local food and beverages. Also, should you get bored or feel a little stir-crazy, channel that energy into looking up local businesses in your area that have been great additions to where you are. Buy a gift card to redeem later and/or leave them a review of your experience to help others find them once things get going again.

Be safe out there and we will see you soon! Cheers! 🍻

We were so grateful to have these amazing folks on the tour this afternoon! We met a couple of the brewers behind the scenes today, and of course, days with “T” require tacos from Tacocat!

On another note, we’re keeping our eye on this COVID-19 situation. We are rescheduling our Saturday Meet Me at the Brewery event and will be in touch with updates on a new date and time. Please bear with us and be safe!

Another really neat experience with a non-beer drinker. A and her hubs were on the tour and A, when asked what kind of beer she wanted to try, responded “vodka.” A little patience and a few questions later, this was her review of a mix of TWO beers!

Beer is so sexy and so diverse and we love it when we can help our tour guests to find something they like. A. liked her first pour so much that she had another of the same, then a King of Carrot Flowers sour AND a Legit Snack (vending machine stout) to round things off. I think A. surprised herself more than anyone else! Thanks for coming along!

Sign up for next Saturday’s Meet Me at the Brewery event and come taste some beer with us. Book your seat at the LINK IN BIO and prepare yourself! You’ll probably find your match in beer (and people if you’re single and ready to mingle 😉)
