Beryl CNC
We manufacture and sell the MultiForm system – a compact add-on tooling solution for modernizing your manual lathe and converting it into a CNC lathe.
Once or twice a year we give this a shot. This was the result of an AI prompt on Chat GPT 4o. Until systems of agents with a geometrical training set are used, or until the models make use of highly tokenized geometric truths with inference, we won’t have AI-imagined turned parts from a single, simple prompt. Still, BerylCNC is always exploring the forefront of these new technologies.
Fun part here - 4140 Steel prepped on a Haas CNC and finished on the MultiForm System, held by a 5C expanding collet.
As some of you know, BerylCNC is working on various AI and machine learning algorithms to position our company at the forefront of integrating these software tools with CNC lathes. An LLM such as GPT4 on its own is not the right tool for this job - yet we’ve managed to come up with a few interesting prompt engineering strategies to get a tool path from a hand sketch. We hope to release the Beryllium GPT soon.
Check out our latest automatic CNC lathe for small parts! This one is a modular build using a Taig 5C headstock, Dunham closer, and BerylCNC LatheBot gang tool setup with our Beryllium touch screen controller. Will run a bar using a small bar puller. Lots more pics and vids to come.
We’re playing with our new GPT over at Open AI - Beryl of Widgets is a GPT that helps you find things to make and sell based on the tools you have, raw materials you may have laying around, and what makes you happiest. Don’t forget, once you are done with the wizard you can pick an item and ask to see it. This GPT is free for all who have the pay to play Open AI account. Take it for a spin and let us know which bird house we should make! (The one with the turned parts is probably a given).
Try out our new GPT! Beryl of Widgets is a wizard-style AI tool that proposes a list of top-ten items you can manufacture and sell with the machines and tools you already have.

We’ve started a Beryl CNC GPT over at Open AI. This is a work in progress, but should be a valuable assistant for questions related to CNC turning in general, and with specifics to our product lines. Enjoy.
ChatGPT - BerylCNC Modernize your manual lathes with CNC add-ons.
A custom Automatic Lathe Bot from Beryl CNC is coming together. This is the pneumatic closer and 5C headstock for a very compact CNC lathe setup. If you want a custom setup, let us know. More pics soon! 🇺🇸
Testing & gathering data on the newest member of the BerylCNC product family - the LatheBot. This is a very compact multi-tool gang setup that can be mounted on a manual lathe to achieve a CNC upgrade in minutes.
Rear-mount down-cut face groove on this 316 Stainless part… yes, the MultiForm handled it very well (we’ve been asked about this quite a few times, as it allows forward spindle operation and right hand twist drills with no spindle direction change).
Updating software, testing cutters on Copper / 4140 / 316, and preparing to ship one of our new LatheBot Gang Tool units.
We’re going to keep YouTube stacked full of videos this fall. A mix of industrial, hobbyist, and insane. Check out this (first ever?) 100-grain solid Copper expanding field point!
Ballistic Copper Arrow Point (Part 2) - shooting and editing is under way, Copper is machining very well considering how difficult it usually is. Next step - threading and slitting. If you haven’t already, check out Part 1 on YouTube.
New YouTube Video up… Check it out! https://youtu.be/abHlPq4hwSU?si=j33QWds12VHaSorW
Very unique YouTube video in the works… involves this curvy profile, Copper, a slitting saw, Geometric die head, and a few drills. Any guesses?
New video up…. Turning valuable PEEK jobs with a MultiForm System:
Turning Small PEEK Parts on Old CNC-Converted Hardinge Turret Lathe
Starting the journey of directly parsing STEP files for automatic feature recognition. Drag and drop your solids, turn the part. No G-code. Coming soon!
New cutter body being born for our upcoming MultiForm Gang-Tool lathe add-on. Stay tuned… this one will be insane!
