Agro-DigitalPH
Value Chain Solutions for Cooperatives & Small Farmer Organizations
The strength of our business model lies on the men and women who toil daily to plan, produce, and bring food to our customers' tables. These are the thousands of men and women who choose to work with dignity and save us from going hungry.
Saving the world I was invited to a conference in Cebu for USAIDβs Project Inspire and was indeed inspired by how NGOs have helped Indigenous People (IPs), fisherfolk and forest dwellers through the Gerry Roxas Foundation, the project implementors.
Round tables are opportunities to network and share experiences with various industry players. Agro-DigitalPH participates in these activities so more people can appreciate that true progress at the grassroots comes from solutions that always have them in mind.
Together with Courtyard by Marriott Iloilo as well as USAID FishRight and BFAR, we ensure sustainable livelihood opportunities for communities.
We are expanding our RSS compliant communities across Panay. This is the start of something BIG.
Glad to have been part of this initiative! Iloilo's been a great pilot. We continue our march towards a sustainable and democratized food system!

Thank you Courtyard by Marriott Iloilo and FNB Report for acknowledging the work that we do for our producer communities! Chef Bon so eloquently explained our model and hearing it from a third party warms our hearts and spurs us forward. More communities need our help and we need institutions that strongly advocate for and patronize sustainable agribusinesses even more.

This is AgroDigital and, together with partners like Waltermart, we dont let farmers wait years for our interventions to make an impact.
We are realizing their futures. Now.
It's been a year since we started roaming around Panay and Negros to meet fishing communities with USAID Fishright, UP Visayas, and Silliman University. We've expanded our networks and have met more than a handful of allies who believe that emancipating communities from the shackles of a feudal order begins at the grassroots.
We started monetizing these relations in behalf of our community partners last December and the number of supportive institutional buyers continues to grow. We prioritize the fulfillment of local demand with local produce but the appetite of consumption sinks like MetroManila will likely require us to move produce across the isles.
Im personally excited at the prospects. Soon we'll have dried fish available from three locations - Roxas, Palawan, Roxas City, Capiz, and Bais, Negros Oriental.
Dont forget us and our communities when Lent comes around :)
Speaking before ASEAN partners and delegates at a Green Growth Enterprise Initiative sponsored by USAID Ignite. It was a chance to represent the Philippines and share Agro-DigitalPH 's startup journey to sustainable enterprises and policymakers across the Region.
Sustainability is at the heart of what we do. As Agro-Digital includes more producers into our Network, we stabilize supply by aligning production to forecasted demand. More producers also means we can start sourcing systematically from our nearest communities thus reducing food miles.
Happening later today!
Agro-Digital partners with Cantilan Bank for a series of programs and grassroots projects to primarily support the start-up's expansion in several verticals and geographies. Signed last September 5, 2023, the Memorandum of Agreement also considers the development of relevant loan products for agri-input, crop, and livestock enterprises. This puts much needed capital in the hands of Agro-Digital's producer communities, usually organized as cooperatives and associations.
Agro-Digital, on the other hand, links these producers to stable markets. More importantly, requiring borrowers to adopt the start-up's digital value chain solution equips these enterprises with accurate production forecasts as well as analytics from production performance. With the ability to flag exceptions early and a network of communities that can be tapped for production short-falls or supply gluts, Agro-Digital's producer partners who intend to borrow may garner better risk ratings that are reflected on loan amounts and interest rates.
Happy to be working with inspired fisheries stakeholders in Western Visayas to help communities deliver fresh and sustainably-caught blue swimming crab (alimasag or kasag!) for the domestic market. If the current strategy works, this can be a template for developing markets for other species --responsibly.
In the next few weeks, we will run test buys, stressing logistics links and our communities' ability to deliver consistently at both quality and volume. This is a long journey but we're making the first of many steps!
These are truly exciting times!!!
[Late post] Happy to have connected with our TBI partners in Silliman. We are working on a handful of projects that would support entrepreneurship and food production in select areas of Negros Oriental.
More importantly, we are considering the use of biotechnologies for waste recovery, a complementing industry vertical to drive down the cost of food in the countryside.
Agro-DigitalPH has been working with Mahalina Foundation in Calatagan since March in equipping households with the know-how to produce their own food. Focusing on natural and organic methods, the six month intervention is a pilot to drive sustainable, community-based food production.
Thank you to our partners for believing we can make a difference in our adopted Panay and Negros communities!
Listen and learn why it makes total sense to build a value chain from the ground up.

Since February, Agro-DigitalPH has been working with WalterMart Supermarket to bring affordable vegetables to households at fair and affordable prices. From a pilot in WM Muntinlupa, coverage has expanded to four other stores in the Metro and soon, to provincial areas too!
Our farming communities in Benguet, Nueva Ecija, Batangas, and Quezon continue to support this endeavor by providing highland and lowland vegetables at stable prices. As coverage expands across Luzon, we will align our closest communities to provide the produce where food is needed. This is Agro-Digital's commitment to reduce food miles and pass the savings to consumers.
More importantly, our farmers can sell their goods at the right price -- with dignity. Each time you buy from a Palengke Day Bagsakan, you take steps to ensure farmers continue planting for the next season of fruits and vegetables.

Juan Catch by Agro-DigitalPH on the Road! We are hard at work to onboard our communities in our latest geography -- Western Visayas!
The first leg of our caravan brings us to the island of Panay. Together with USAID FishRight and UP Visayas' Coastline 5023 TBI, the combined team spent more than ten (10) days criss-crossing the coastlines of Panay and Guimaras for a total of 780+km.
At every stop, we were greeted warmly by both producers and potential buyers from Aklan, Capiz, Iloilo, Antique, and Guimaras. Producers are aching to reach new markets while buyers expressed the dire need to source produce consistently at reasonable prices.
Taking on Juan Catch as a complementary platform to AgroMarketplace of Agro-DigitalPH exploits synergies between the two platforms. Anchored on community development, we seek sustainable production while leveraging efficiencies through Digital. Western Visayas easily adds another eight (8) points of presence for Agro-DigitalPH, increasing our coverage of the countryside to more than 28 locations between Luzon and its newest geography.
With onboarding sessions in full-swing, we hope to have our first set of pilot transactions in the next eight weeks.
Agro-DigitalPH is the proud tech adopter of Juan Catch, an online seafood marketplace developed by USAID Fish Right.
To help fishers with alternative market opportunities to sell responsibly sourced fish, USAID supported the development of the online marketplace platform Juan Catch. The platform was designed to connect fishers who engage in fisheries management and comply with responsible marine fishing practices directly with seafood buyers (including processors, distributors, retailers, and hotels, restaurants, and catering and food service providers). Juan Catch aims to ensure fair prices and provide seller, product and market information to increase responsible seafood sourcing (RSS) in the Philippines.
In 2022, USAID, QBO Innovation Hub, UP Visayas Coastline 5023 Fisheries TBI, and Silliman University Synergy TBI, jointly organized the Juan Catch Innovation Challenge, looking for venture leaders to further develop, operate, and grow this platform post-program. Agro-DigitalPH, an eCommerce startup that supports farmers' and fishers' associations through digital solutions, won the challenge and will receive technology transfer of Juan Catch as well as further incubation support in 2023.
Thank you Konsehal Kelly for your warm welcome and an even warmer welcome from our farmer partners! We have been working with communities in Benguet and a multi-stakeholder approach seems to be the best bet to engaging farming communities.
Our thanks also go to the Atok Municipal Agriculturist's Office, DA AMAD-CAR and the Pansigedan Advocacy Cooperative for much of the social preparation prior to our meeting this week. Discussions were lighthearted and easy and it was obvious they wanted a positive outcome to the day's activities.
Engaging in a new model of doing business requires open minds and a willingness to reach out and do something different. We look forward to their successful delivery this coming week!
Agro-DigitalPH is extending its reach into fisheries!!!
For the past three years, we have been partnering with farming communities with sixteen points of presence across Luzon. In line with our expansion into the Visayas, this award and recognition comes at a great time as we put our focus on developing agri-related enterprises AND promote responsible fishing practices. Ensuring year-round incomes for our fishers is key to making sure our seas can sustain us for the years to come!
Thank you FishRight/USAID, QBO, Siliman University and UP Visayas for the trust and belief our Startup has what it takes to take on this challenge for smallholder fishers.
