This video spotlights an 102 year old veteran who amazingly is still independent and living a vibrant life! So wonderful to see the ones who survived storming the beaches of Normandy are able to make the journey and be honored 80 years later!

Today is Pearl Harbor Day, remembering the "day which will live in infamy." As we honor those who survived or perished that day, we also honor all those who fought for our freedom during the course of the war.
Only a handful of who served in WWII remain, and even fewer from Pearl Harbor. But we will never forget them.

I cannot believe I've neglected my page for this long! 🧐
And can't believe how quickly time goes by! I definitely don't want to be a stranger, anymore, though! 😊

A little life update: I'm continuing to write, but had a few seasons of computer issues, some minor health setbacks, and also some happy busy times simply doing life! 🙂
In June, my husband and I spent 12 days in England! It was our first time there, and my first time overseas- ever! We absolutely loved our visit and the British people. We spent time in London, Bath, and saw Dover, Canterbury, and the Costswolds. 💕
(Maybe they'll be a story out of this in the future?)

Meanwhile, the last novella (yet to be named!) in the Landers town Romance series has taken me SO long to finish, but I'm finally currently writing the final chapter! I'm looking forward to sharing with you about Angela, the last of four friends to have her own story told.

Hi Everyone!
I've been on a little hiatus- not from writing. I'm currently writing the fourth novella in the Landers Town Romance series.(More on that soon!)
Mainly, I've just taken a break from the social media side of things.
But I hope to stop by here more in the weeks and months to come. And I also wanted to pop in to let you know that my youngest daughter was recently asked to illustrate this wonderful children's book that one of our pastors and his wife wrote! IIt just became live this week!
I think it would make a precious Christmas present for the little ones in your life. It speaks of God's love and our true identity with Him!

It was actually her very first hit single, recorded with Les Brown's orchestra in 1945. Because it coincided with the end of WWII, it became a sort of "anthem" for the soldiers returning home. ❤

Tessa closed her book and gazed out the window. Desert scenes had long given way to a richer landscape. She stared off at the distant hills, covered in masses of green forests. The bus was heading over the mountain range now, its engine occasionally roaring with the shifting of gears.
She leaned back and observed the peaceful beauty moving past her. Clouds brushed over the tops of the hills; a few falling lower, their mist draped over the evergreens like a winter cape.
As Tessa absently stared in their direction, a question assaulted her—Should I have left well enough alone last evening? Not even texted him back?
She had begun to feel guilty for ignoring him. So, after dinner the night before, she had replied to Jeffery’s text, politely explaining that she was leaving for Oregon the next morning and would probably be gone most of the summer.
She wasn’t sure if she’d even hear from him again—he was never very predictable when it came to keeping in touch. Yet, he had texted her back within minutes.
Even now, as she watched the scenery twist and turn outside her window, she felt stunned at his quick response. Especially when he went on about how sad he was that he wouldn’t be able to see her all summer…how he was going to miss her…
It was all so confusing...What was going on here?
She remembered he had sometimes said and done similar things in the past that had a way of making her think he might want to get serious with her. But it seemed so different this time. More intentional.
Talk about terrible timing! But then, there seemed to be a lot of that going on in her life right now.

It should have lasted forever…
Bethany felt her heart twisting as the old memories resurfaced. Now she recollected why she had always kept such a tight lid on them. Once they escaped, the feelings were so raw—so current.
She refused to let the ache behind her eyes turn into tears. This was all so long ago. Over a half a decade now, and she had only been a child, really. She swallowed the lump rising in her throat.
Strange how the memories of her more recent break up didn’t seem to stir up the same kind of pain. Oh, it had been painful, but she knew it was mostly because it coincided with so many other disappointments. The end of college life…career frustrations…That recent breakup was like a nasty cut to the finger when so many other things were simultaneously going wrong.
But her memories of David seemed to pierce her insides and leave her feeling hollow. It made no sense—she had moved on! Thinking of someone from so long ago shouldn’t still leave her wrung out inside.
