Foldable travel alarm clock made by Cosmo Time™ in Japan.

Those little foldable travel alarm clocks were once the must for any respectable traveler.
You might even remember seeing older models in detective movies set in the 1920s-30s when travel by train and boat was all the rage.

This Japanese made alarm clock by Cosmo Time™ is made of gold-tone metal trims and a curved glass bezel. The outside is covered in a beautiful, leathery brown vinyl, while the inside is covered in a light beige vinyl with undertones of pink. The clock hands and hour marking have a luminescent coating which makes it easily readable in the dark.
Two winding springs can be found at the back of the clock, one for the clock itself, the other for the alarm bell (smallest arm on the face of the clock). The volume of the bell is also adjustable.
Genuine Cosmo Time™ foldable alarm clocks have become quite uncommon to find over the years, and ones in such a good condition even more.

PHYSICAL CONDITION: Opens and closes perfectly. The vinyl covering is in perfect condition. Some of the gold-tone trimmings on the outer edges have slightly faded, which is to be expected from any object of this age since it is usually the first part to fade due to handling. The bezel has suffered a crack at the bottom left corner, but it does not affect the integrity of the clock itself (see 5th picture)
MECHANISM CONDITION: Both springs wind up properly and the alarm clock works very well. The clock is, however, unable to keep time anymore. The Balance wheel seems to be defective. It is however easily repaired by any amateur clockmaker. Such foldable alarm clock models are indeed very prized by beginner clockmakers due to their relative ease of work and repair. This little gem will hence be perfect for any clockmaking lover.
