Ngaben is held every year, where late relatives are exhumed and cleaned before the cremation after 3 to 5 yrs.
There are another 2 more types of cremation ceremony, PELEBON for the royal family and Pretiwaan for the high priest. At these level, it is carried out the soonest and cost can be approx IDR500m.
When the priest is done with his last chant, the family will pack the ashes in coconut shells and bring them to the nearest sea or river. The Balinese believe that when the ashes are scattered into the ocean, the soul is once again returned to the universe. 🌈

🌅🌺🌴 It's been almost a month since I started my Bali adventure, and people keep asking if I have any regrets. But my answer is simple: I am living each day to the fullest and embracing every moment to the fullest. 🌅🌺🌴
As the loves of my life taught me:
1. Grandpa - I remember at the young age of 4, My grandpa sat me on his lap and asked me if I know why he is learning Mandarin (maybe age 70+). I recall my innocent blank face. And his words are "For you to learn to do the impossible, and I will show you"
2. Grandma ~ She who combs, braids my hair, then takes me out to buy a new ribbon each day. Her words are " You are always the princess, if no one loves you, I will always do"
3. 1st Uncle ~ If nobody else wants you, I want you as my daughter.
These were the words that kept me going in my whole life, my eternal strength, peace, and love.
And today I felt their amazing strength and love carrying me on my new journey.

The whole island shuts down for 24 hours, and the streets are off limits to everyone. Let's take a moment to reflect, cleanse, and start the new year with positivity!
