I CAN’T WAIT to finally be finished with this piece to show you guys! It’s a beautiful 4 drawer oak dresser with an ornate mirror. I’ve considered keeping it just because it has taken SO much time to work on. I originally planned to do this piece in a raw wood finish but quickly realized it wouldn’t be possible. I’ve been working on this piece on and off for TWO months. I’ve had to stop and take breaks because I would get frustrated because it’s been so tedious. As you can see in the picture, a previous owner put a type of varnish on top that didnt age well over the original finish. In turn creating an alligator skin type surface. Which is so difficult to remove and even get it down smooth enough to paint over. I’m hoping today I finish it! 🤞

I’m so excited about my Halloween display this year that I couldn’t wait to share some of the pieces I have planned for it! 🎃👻It will be a big display, but these are some of my favorites that will be featured. I usually plan for the first week of September, but I don’t know that my work schedule will line up to do that, and in that case it may actually be earlier so stay tuned!!

I personally 💕 love 💕 antique and vintage mirrors. Not only are they beautiful, but they can open up a small room and make it seem like a bigger space. I’m currently searching/sourcing/hoarding mirrors to do a gallery wall in my booth inspired by these photos. 🪞

Eclectic will be open today from 11-6! I’ve had some people ask about the dried florals. 3 of them sold on Sunday, but multiple are still left in my booth as of right now!

Today is move in day for hopefully my new booth home for many years to come! Had a delay and wanted to be in before now but didn’t work unfortunately. Introducing the first piece that will be available in my new booth at Eclectic! I saw this vanity and immediately fell in love. Knew I had to scoop it up and refinish it. I also love the color which is one I’ve never used called Thistle Green. 💚Keep an eye out, this piece will be available when my booth opens soon 🙂

Wanted to make a quick post to say I miss all of my customers and followers! I’ve been working to get everything in order for my new booth and will have updates soon on opening date, etc! To all of my loyal followers and customers, I have a big announcement to make.

2024 has been a slow year for me up until this point because of the long break I took. At the end of 2023 I had a surgery that slowed me down, which in turn took a toll on my mental health that put me even further behind. I’m doing a lot of catching up to get back to where I need to be.

As some of you may remember, I had a second booth at Eclectic Goods Market in Dunbar before. Unfortunately, I had to close that booth because at the time, their hours didn’t line up with my days off. I still have a full time job and other responsibilities outside of The Violet Perch that made the second booth almost impossible to keep up with. Since that time, some things have changed. With that being said, I have made the decision to move my booth from Brown’s to Eclectic as it is a closer location for me. I would like to thank the owners of Brown’s Antique Mall for having me as a vendor for the past 2+ years. Brown’s will always hold a special place in my heart. It’s where I got my start and I’m very grateful for my time there and of course will continue to be a customer.

There will be a bit of a break and transition period in between leaving Brown’s and moving to Eclectic in order to give me time to catch up. I’d also like to thank Eclectic for welcoming me back and working to find a space for me. Recently I’ve been VERY busy sourcing and starting new furniture pieces. As I’ve said before, I want to love everything I put into my booth. I don’t want to just fill it to have it full.

I’d also like to thank all of you who have been so amazing through the past years and have stuck with me through all the changes. Some of you have been here since the beginning when I just had this page and a dream. I’ve said it a million times but I’ll continue to say it a million times more. The support you all have shown is just amazing to me and I’m forever grateful.

When everything is worked out and I have a better idea on all of the details, opening date, etc…I’ll update everyone.
