It took falling down the stairs and sustaining injuries that had me in a wheelchair... while on vacation to get me to appreciate all that my body CAN do.

As women, I think we get caught up in comparison and the ideas of what society thinks is sexy, beautiful, strong, and acceptable. FYI... You're sexy, beautiful, strong and acceptable RIGHT. WHERE. YOU'RE. AT.

Having the ability to walk and do things for myself taken away from me really woke me up. My ankles will NEVER be the same.. They look like tree stumps but you know what. They are strong enough to hold me up so that I can walk.

I have made a promise to myself that I will care for and love my body no matter what. It's the only one I've got so I'm going to enjoy it!

You read a lot about “love your body” on social media but the thing is…. No one’s telling you HOW. That s**t is hard ESPECIALLY when (if your body is not socially acceptable) media and advertising are pretty much designed to make you hate yourself. Here’s a good jumping-off point for you if you’re struggling with loving the bod you got. Let’s face it, you can lose and gain weight, lose it again, get abs (or not) only to get stuck in a head game that keeps you from being truly happy. That jumping off point is acceptance.
It takes time and a lot of inner work to get to a place of acceptance. Acceptance of your body right where it’s at with its looks and ability. With that acceptance comes a release of shame. Shame about its size, the appearance of thighs, belly, arms, etc. Shame about being too much or not good enough. It is not until you accept can you release shame. Once you release shame, then you can move to a place of LOVE for your body. You begin to care for and nurture yourself in a whole new way. Inside and out. .
It’s a journey. If you’re struggling I’m here to help and I’m sending so much love to you right now.

Just a little something to think about as we head into the new year. ⁣

It's time to get free of all of the emotional stuff that's weighing us down when it comes to our bodies. The goal should be to feel lighter in your spirit. ⁣

If you want to release physical weight on your body, that's perfectly fine. Work to release that emotional heaviness and your body will release the physical weight. It's all connected. ⁣
✨⁣
Most importantly, LOVE yourself through the whole process ❤⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣
