Students who worked for twenty (20) days in the Local Government Unit of Bucay were gathered today Friday, August 29, 2024 at the Office of the Mayor to receive their salary.
Mayor Jay Dominador Go was personally thank the SPES beneficiaries and gave his message that may this program help their studies and their families. Don't waste this opportunity because not everyone is given such chances.
PESO Manager-Designate Sharmainne Paradi was the program facilitator.

As part of the commitment to bring the services of the local government closer to the people, Municipal Treasurers Office headed by Juan B. Taa and Municipal Assessor's Office, Catalina B. Fernandez distributed tax declaration and Notice of Assessment and conducted collection of taxes at Pakiling, Bucay.
LGU Bucay under the leadership of Mayor Jay Dominador G. Go spearheaded by Municipal Agriculturist Office headed by Manuel Santiago Jr. Municipal Agriculturist together with Department of Agriculture distributed fertilizer(urea) to Rice Farmers of Bucay in order to increase their rice production.
We are deeply saddened and outraged by the tragic shooting incident that occurred at approximately 6:40 PM on August 20, 2024, in Sitio Burobor, Brgy. Bangcagan, Bucay, Abra. This senseless act of violence claimed the life of Johnny Trinidad Marilag, other two victims namely Arnold Anquillano Trinidad and Joshua Marquez both resident of Barangay Pagala are still being treated.
Our thoughts are with the victims families and loved ones during this difficult time. We condemn this heinous act and call for justice and peace in our community. It is imperative that those responsible are held accountable, and that we all work together to prevent such tragedies in the future.
August 19, 2024| Employees of the Local Government Unit of Bucay gathered for a Flag Raising Ceremony, presided over by the Office of the Municipal Administrator. This event not only celebrated the municipality's identity but also brought together personnel from various agencies, including the Department of the Interior and Government (DILG), Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), and uniformed services such as the Philippine National Police (PNP), Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP), and Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP).
A notable highlight of the ceremony was the introduction of new employees joining the LGU-Bucay. The Municipal Administrator welcomed these fresh hires, emphasizing their importance in enhancing public service and fostering community growth. The gathering reflected a strong commitment to teamwork and collaboration among different sectors, setting a positive tone for future initiatives aimed at serving the community more effectively as mentioned by Jerome G. Gonzales, Municipal Budget Officer.

Taa, Municipal Treasurer conducted the calibration of all weighing scales of vendors at Bucay Public Market through the assistance of Rommel B. Bustarga, Trade Industry Dev't Specialist and Charles T Gonzales, DOLE-GIP from Department of Trade and Industry-Abra headed by Marvin I. Archangel, OIC Provincial Director.
All defective weighing scales where confiscated and destroyed.
Through these collaborative efforts, the calibration of weighing scales is expected to enhance the trust of consumers in the Bucay Public Market, ensuring that sellers maintain integrity in their transactions. This initiative, therefore, serves not only to underpin fair trade practices but also contributes to the broader goal of promoting economic development and improving the livelihoods of local vendors in the community.
Overall, it represents a proactive step by the Local Government Unit to enhance regulatory standards and support local entrepreneurship, ultimately benefiting both vendors and consumers alike.

The Public Employment Services Office, led by PESO Officer Ms. Sharmainne Parado of LGU-Bucay under the leadership of Mayor Jay Dominador G. Go, collaborated with the Department of Labor and Employment, headed by OIC-DOLE-CAR Christopher B. Tugadi, to conduct a Career Coaching Activity.
This two-day event, held at CBGMHS, OLFS, DNHS, and PNHS, was facilitated by Mr. Louise Kyle Puertullano, Labor and Employment Officer II, with assistance from TUPAD Coordinator Ms. Madeth Borreta and the Government Internship Program of DOLE, Abra.
Career coaching offers specialized mentorship and personalized guidance to aid individuals in career development. It assists students with job searching, CV building, interview preparation, and goal setting, while also helping them understand labor market demands to make informed career choices.

3rd QUARTER SOCIAL PENSION PAY-OUT | Today, August 6,2024, the Municipality of Bucay under the leadership of Mayor Jay Dominador G. Go worked together with the Department of Social Welfare and Development Field Office and MSWDO staff under the supervision of Grace M. Taeza, MSWDO facilitated the distribution of Social Pension financial aid at the designated barangay gymnasiums.
The program was designed to offer monetary assistance to eligible senior citizens from the 21 barangays, to help them meet their financial needs and improve their quality of life.
Today, LGU-Bucay, under the leadership of Mayor Jay Dominador G. Go, shows support to Bucay Municipal Hospital headed by Dra Conchitina Berońa, Chief of hospital through the participation of Municipal Health Office in the celebration of Hospital Week through a motorcade. Bucay Municipal Hospital played an integral role in this event by engaging in the motorcade to promote healthcare services and raise greater community awareness about health issues.
This collaborative effort between Local Government Unit and the Bucay Municipal Hospital underscores their shared goal of prioritizing health initiatives within Bucay.

ENR DATA INTEGRATION FOR MAPPING OF EXISTING LAND USES | The National Mapping and Resource Information Authority (NAMRIA) headed by Forester Noel C. Daus conducted and implemented the ENR (Environment and Natural Resources) Project which aims to produce Provincial/Municipal Existing Land Use Maps.
The output will be essential in planning, monitoring, development, and policy formulation to ensure proper land utilization. The Provice of Abra is one of the target areas for CY-2024.

NUTRITION MONTH CELEBRATION | In celebration of the 50th Nutrition Month with the theme "𝑺𝒂 𝑷𝑷𝑨𝑵 𝒔𝒂𝒎𝒂-𝒔𝒂𝒎𝒂 𝒔𝒂 𝑵𝒖𝒕𝒓𝒊𝒔𝒚𝒐𝒏 𝑺𝒂𝒑𝒂𝒕 𝑷𝒂𝒓𝒂 𝒔𝒂 𝑳𝒂𝒉𝒂𝒕", a re-orientation and capacity-building session was conducted for the BLGU through their BHW and BNS to formulate the Barangay Nutrition Plan.
The Resource Speakers were Justine Salacan, the Nutrition Officer II of NNC and Jenelyn E. Leaño,the Nutritionist Dietitian II of DOH.
This plan will serve as their guide to reduce malnutrition and implement interventions to address nutrition problems and their effects on every household or family in the community.
The session was facilitated by Graziela Z. Gonzales ,Micheal D. Gonzales, PHN-II of Municipal Health Office, in the presence of Cherisha Nadeena G. Bersalona, Municipal Administrator.
LOOK: The Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (MDRRMC) held a Pre-Disaster Risk Assessment (PDRA) Meeting for Tropical Depressions .
MDRRMC Chairman Mayor Jay Dominador G. Go presides over the Pre-Disaster Risk Assessment (PDRA) Meeting for Tropical Depressions . MDRRMO-Designate Margarita Sanico discussed the possible effects of the said tropical depression.
Discussions covered inventory of equipment, welfare goods, and human resources, conduct of pre-emptive evacuation, assessment of critical infrastructure, and other matters relating to preparations in the event of emergencies possibly triggered by the typhoon.

The Special Program for Employment of Students (SPES) beneficiaries in the first batch made a courtesy call to Mayor Jay Go, along with PESO Manager Mrs. Sharmainne Parado. The purpose of the meeting was to provide an update to the Mayor on the progress and impact of the SPES program in providing employment opportunities to students, as well as to discuss potential areas for improvement or expansion of the program in the future.
