Bilingualism in early years!

🤟What is Bilingual?
Being ‘bilingual’ means you can speak 2 languages.

👉Wondering weather to teach children languages at the same time?
Research shows that children who learn two languages simultaneously, progress at the same rate as children who learn only one language.

📌REMEMBER : Children soak up languages the best when they are between birth and three years.

Also, between the ages of 4 and 7 is the SECOND best time to teach a second language.

While, between 8 and puberty is THIRD. So, if you don't teach your child new languages when they are born, you can always do it later too.

😎Bilingualism is an advantage both personally and professionally. If your child is born in a bilingual or a trilingual family, ignore the myths surrounding it.

😍Muskaan speaks Hindi, English and Punjabi at home. While she enjoys learning French too. She also has fun trying to understand Bengali while interacting with peers.

~LISTEN~

This is a beautifuly illustrated book that follows a girl through her school day as she listens to sounds around her, in the city.

I like how the quality of listening shifts and deepens- a dog barking or motorbike zipping by, she also pays close attention to the words people say and the feelings they have.

What attracted me the most is the part wherein she listens to the sound inside herself "Rumble of belly, Whoosh of breath". How she managed to listen "past the noise".

👉An excellent book for kids to take time and listen to their surroundings. While it tells you to listen properly, it also teaches to be mindful and patient.

Definitely recommend everyone to read this book.

‼️LONG POST ALERT‼️

I have observed that after having your first child, people start asking you about your second child (I realize asking the same question too, lol).

Regardless, I guess it's almost expected that you give your child a sibling.

Well on a personal note, it was always my plan- I wanted more than one child.

God was kind. I am blessed with two wonderful kids.
But hey, what made me think having a second child would be easier than having just one?

I felt unprepared. I felt uneasy. I felt harder. (Yes already)

I also realised, no matter how much you know about parenting, no matter it's your second child,
IT'S NOT ENOUGH!
Doesn't end here!

Since it was my second, I wondered how my first child would welcome the new addition. I hope she would find a lifelong buddy in her new sibling.
How was the transition?

I feel blessed that Muskaan quickly assumed the new role of being a big sister! We have our dear family and friends who support us and love us! This transition has been manageable for us all!
Yes, we definitely have a long way to go and so much to learn. As I said I am thankful for my dear family and friends who have helped me in this journey.

There is some great advice and guidance I received from mom's who have been there and lived it. If you have a baby on its way or you have somebody to share with, Swipe to know some tips about parenting two babies.

Parents are busy today and meals as a family at the same time every day seems impossible.

Some parents thing this is just another piece of fiction handed down to them from their parents' generation.

Monster Math! Mastery in multiplication and division is built on understanding of concepts of whole and total from addition and subtraction. What is multiplication? It is finding the total of objects organised in an equal group arrangement. In this activity I drew monsters with varying hands and post-its to write the equation. Children need to put dots on monster hands with Q-tips.
