Happy new year! Music often contains complex interwoven layers and Newspeak is no different. While composing its chorus, Pranav wanted a melodic riff which he wanted to highlight. Here is a small reprised version of Newspeak that brings out the chorus riff in a distinct fashion.

Polarization, a phenomenon exacerbated by the onset of social media, has been assisted by an estranged media, which has deviated from its core principles: honesty, independence, and loyalty to the citizenry. We explore this hypothesis by looking through the lens of George Orwell’s 1984. Stay tuned!

We would like to introduce the artwork for our second single titled 'Newspeak', designed by the very talented Akshaya (https://www.instagram.com/artcid_/) .
The scene depicts a family watching the dreaded telescreen from George Orwell's 1984 and drowning in poisonous propaganda.
'Newspeak' refers to a language, oddly limiting in expression, that the state wants to use in order to control its populace.
This setting portrays our criticism on the vastly polarizing nature of journalism today, which has failed in its role as the fourth pillar of democracy.

Greetings! We teamed up with Koronus to do a full band cover of the song Demiurge by Meshuggah. This cover is a tribute to Meshuggah, one of the greatest bands on Earth. Demiurge is the song over which Systemic Absence and Koronus initially met and bonded, leading to a great collaboration. Hope you enjoy!

It gives us immense pleasure to introduce our band Systemic Absence. This is a start to the journey of sharing our sonic musings with the world.
Here is a teaser for our first single, titled 'Terminal Deception' which is set to launch on 1 May 2020 on all major platforms.
Terminal Deception seeks to discuss the possibility of artificial intelligence (AI) becoming autonomous, and going beyond the realm of human control. An analysis of how digital technology was first conceived in an attempt to reduce human effort is made. A hypothesis that AI may turn out to be a myopic escapade that leads humanity down a perilous path is explored.
