Chattahoochee RiverLands Ramble 05/04/2022

Great chance this weekend to Ramble on the Chattahoochee River. Learn about one of Georgia's boldest greenway visions.

The Trust for Public Land is hosting a "RiverLand Ramble" to introduce the Chattahoochee RiverLands. (www.chattahoocheeriverlands.com) Guides will lead visitors to points along the RiverLands Showcase site, where TPL and Cobb County will build a 3-mile section of main stem greenway trail, trailheads, overlooks, and other amenities. Also, guests will see how bourgeoning development is providing new opportunities to live, work, and play on the Chattahoochee, experience history by visiting a Civil War era entrenchment and see the “before” stages of where the RiverLands main stem greenway trail meets the Nickajack Creek tributary trail.

This 16-acre Atlanta park was built to flood 24/02/2022

Fantastic project with the National Monuments Foundation that turned out beautifully. If you are in Atlanta - or visit Atlanta please walk through Cook Park. The neighbors did a great job or decided what they wanted in their park.

This 16-acre Atlanta park was built to flood Set in a low-lying area that’s home to a primarily Black community, the park can absorb 10 million gallons of stormwater.

Opinion: Save priceless Okefenokee Swamp Some of my fondest memories of growing up in Georgia involve the great outdoors: canoeing down the Flint River, hiking in the North Georgia mountains and laying down in the body of a canoe as my mom and dad paddled slowly through the Okefenokee Swamp. As we made our way through the vast 438,000-acre...

The Unbearable Heaviness of Being Divisive 19/02/2021

My thoughts regarding this week. "What can bring us together? A focus on policy instead of personal, petty politics...The House gained Republicans and the Democrats did not grab control of a single state legislature this past cycle. Something worked."

64 Percent of College Students Say Rioting and Looting is ‘Justified' 10/02/2021

Cushmania Fundraiser for Our House 16/11/2020

Our House provides families experiencing homelessness with shelter to live and education to thrive.

I first became involve with Our House soon our second child, Robert, was born. Lisa Loften, a friend of ours, asked me if I would serve as treasurer of Genesis: A new Life, a shelter for homeless babies and their families. We had two young children, under the age of two, I was sleep deprived, but we had a home and a family to help us with our children. I Knew I had to help others. Over 19 years later, our family is still involved.

Our children's friends have given our home the name Cushmania - so I've used that same name for fundraising for Our House.

All children should have a safe and secure place to grow and thrive. Your donation can help Our House proved shelter to live and education to thrive.

Thank you!
