Whiskey Ridge is such a gem for photographers 😍 the modern barn is huge and lets in beautiful natural light.
They also have a farm house that seriously makes my heart melt. It’s updated, but still has character. I love all the pockets of romantic light you can find. The perfect place to get ready on your wedding day.
We had golden hour peek through the clouds this day. Running around by the fence line with the sun showing off her glow 🥹 my favorite
planned this shoot and it turned out amazing!!

Some things on my heart lately
There’s so much pressure. From the world. From your community. From your family and friends. From yourself…
I’ve been reflecting on my intentions with photography.
I’ve always ALWAYS been a hopeless romantic. I believe love conquers all.
Which may be naive at times, but isn’t that beautiful?
I’m entering my third professional wedding season, and I feel way behind my peers. But not in skill or knowledge. To be quite vulnerable, comparing myself to others is what’s held be back.
I thrive when I focus on bettering myself. Lately I’ve been focusing on others.
Instead of posting my work, I just scroll and see everyone else’s, which created a never-ending cycle of comparing and feeling defeated.
It’s scary sharing this with the public but I KNOW other people can relate and this might help them, too.
I may not be putting this in to words the right way and it may seem a little all over the place but this is my truth right now.
All of this to say, I just want to provide a special type of service for my couples.
Don’t you want to remember the real moments on your wedding day? Not the robe photos, but the special moment you shared with your mom? Not the perfectly curated detail shots, but the small wrinkles of your grandpas smile when he saw you for first time?
There is a place for “smile and look at me” photos. Im not denying that. I would even say it’s necessary.
What I don’t want, is for your wedding to feel like a photoshoot all day.
Anyway I should turn this in to a blog post or podcast because I have so many thoughts about this, this is just the tip of the ice berg.
I would love to know everyone’s thoughts, though! Photographer, wedding professional, bride or groom! For real comment so we can chat!
xx Kate
