Hello. Join us tonight, September 27th, LIVE from NYC for tour #144 Considering Victory. Together, we explore urgent work by Maxwell Alexandre.

Brazilian artist Maxwell Alexandre's (he/him) large-scale paintings form pathways and intimate enclosures that surround visitors. They portray striking scenes of communal leisure interspersed with recurring religious and art historical imagery. Pop cultural symbols appear alongside these images, including depictions of Black cultural icons, like Beyoncé, Nina Simone, and Elza Soares, and commercial products from his childhood, such as popular plastic blue Capri pools, Danone yogurt, and the chocolate drink Toddynho.

In this tour, we ask - What do you see?

Here at .art, we are delighted to share work by the most amazing Black artists. Join us JUL 11th as we present tour #136 Considering Considering Figuration | Elias Sime.

From a distance, 's (he/him) wall-mounted compositions look like abstract paintings made up of geometric shapes and bold passages of colour. Upon closer inspection, however, the works reveal the patterns made by discarded materials densely packed into almost infinite grids of wire and metal. Sime weaves, layers and assembles everyday materials to transform commonplace objects into lyrical abstractions that suggest natural landscapes and living organisms.

Here at .art, we are delighted to share work by the most amazing Black artists. Tonight MAY 17th we present tour #131 Considering Cargo | Serge Alain Nitegeka.

Upon first impressions, Serge Alain Nitegeka's (he/him) installations and paintings appear to be purely abstract, concerned with line, colour and space. However, these works are deeply symbolic, confronting the viewer with issues of forced migration and a world divided by impenetrable borders and invisible frontiers.
