We did something super cool! In January of 2019 Chet McDonald donated this Jeep to us, it was in pieces as you'll as in the photos. He started on this project over 20 years ago, life events got in the way and it was never completed. We invited Chet and his family out Monday night to see it. They where amazed at our program and how this beast turned out! Yes, it was originally a Laredo. You'll see the original hood in one picture with factory striping.

It will also be on display at the school December 2nd for the 9th Annual Titletown Jeepers Toys for Tots Ride the ride leaves from the school, I believe around 10am.

I will post a complete build sheet with sponsors, helpers, etc. shortly! We appreciate everyone that was involved with this and our program as well.

Last week we had an amazing week! Motion Products, Inc invited us over for a tour and to get our Jeep running and break it in. On the way home, someone cut us off. When we hit the brakes, our trailer floor buckled loosening the straps sending our Jeep into the trailer sides. We are fortunate nobody was hurt. Between our current class and a handful of alumni members, the hood was repaired and painted, two new front fenders painted and installed. Some minor body damage repaired and going into primer tonight. Stop and see us Saturday May 7th at our annual Freedom High School Auto Club car show! We’ll have both our Jeep and Square body projects on display!

Thank you to all that attended and donated to both our program and the Toys for Tots program! I don’t have a number, but we had a lot of people and Jeeps!

We violated our own rule, measure twice, cut once. The factory cross member was missing so we made one. Somehow ovwr COVID and two years we lost the Jeeps skid plate which also houses the gas tank. Luckily our friend Brian Jensen from Riverside Welding Company was here tonight. He is going to instruct us on how to build a skid plate and we already took a 1/2 inch out of our cross member.

What a night! Final clear on the roll cage, hood, and tailgate. Within a 1/2 hour we’ll be done box lining the CJ floor. We started putting intake, distributor, etc. on our AMC 360. We also finished mocking up the floor or our square body at Project Hat-Trick. The floor in the Chevy was made of raw cut lumber that we cut and machined here at the school. A Chevy did not have a wood bed since around 1972.
