STORY TIME: My sweet Grandma Mary posing with my cookbook and showing off her recipes that I am sharing with you all in the book! My sister sent me these photos over the weekend and they brought tears of joy to my eyes! My Grandma Mary has been an encouraging inspiration to me my entire life. When I was young child, she would pick me up every Sunday morning in her late 80’s tan Grand Marquis and take me to Sunday School with her and afterwards, she would always take me to get a cappuccino at the local convenience store in our small town where I grew up. It was our special thing— just my Grandma and me. It was such a treat at the time and I think maybe cost a whole 89¢! 🤣 The two recipes that I published in my cookbook are her Vinaigrette Pea Salad and her very FAMOUS (and crazy viral) Mandarin Orange cake… she made that cake for me every year for my birthday and sometimes just because she knew I loved it. I love my Grandma Mary very much and it means so much to me that I’m able to share some of her recipes with you all!

What a wonderful turnout at Pumpkin Day at the Dallas Farmers Market 🎃!! I am so excited and thankful that they gave me a space to kick off the launch of my new cookbook “SPOILED” and share its message and meaning with folks! It was a GORGEOUS FALL DAY and we were able to make over 300 pumpkin pancakes from scratch (yes, I roasted a pumpkin and made the purée)!! We served them with local honey too! I wasn’t able to get a picture with everyone that came out but I did get a few! Thank you to all who came and supported— I hope yall loved the pancakes! 🥞 Special thanks to Jeff Harkson for driving up from Austin and helping me serve this wonderful community! The first Chili of the season… there are two types of people on this Earth. The good wholesome god fearing American’s that believe every Fall season begins with slow simmered pot of Thick Chili…. And then there are those who believe Chili isn’t supposed to have beans in it. The anti-bean people seek to destroy the good left in the world. They are the darkness that would aim to eliminate frito pies and chili dogs. They are not of god and likely some of them are you own close friends!
