For those that have noticed, this page has been inactive for the last couple of weeks. I’ve made the decision to discontinue with the gifts, posts, and podcast for the foreseeable future, as I move in a different direction with everything I am doing in life. Appreciate all the support over the past 2 and half years. We gave out over 150 gifts, had about 7,000 good deeds shared with us and amassed more than 15,000 podcast downloads in 83 episodes. All podcast episodes will be available to listen to until October (link in “About” section). Our twitter and tumblr will stay active as well for a little extra positivity to brighten up your day.

We are very grateful for all the dedication, hardwork, and sacrifice that all the Health Heroes have made and continue to make. So many of them have families of their own, and have had to isolate themselves from their loved ones to continue to serve the community! As a small token of our appreciation we have joined in making some to encourage them and thank them for what they do! You too can join in, and make some to show some love and appreciation to the frontliners! ❤👩‍⚕️👨‍⚕️🏥🥰

Beautiful rainbow ✔️ Big smile ✔️ Awesome man bun✔️ ❤️
That’s how we roll. Happy Monday!🌈

Toys for Tots is a charity program, which collects and distributes toys to families who can’t afford to buy Christmas presents for their children. Plenty of families around the USA live in poverty and for many of them, toys are the last thing to buy. The goal of the program is to spread a message of hope and love to those less fortunate children.
+
The US Marine Corps Reserve, who runs the program, wants to distribute 2 million toys, games and books during this time of crisis. Recently, the foundation has received support and donations from some of the world’s leading manufacturers.
+
"While Marine Toys for Tots foundation is known as a Christmas time charity, we don't want to wait until next holiday season to lessen the fear and anxiety of our children," said Lt. Gen Jim Laster, president & CEO of the foundation.

“Notes for People began as a personal side project to explore the art of brush lettering, but soon evolved into a collaborative art mission to spread kindness and inspiration throughout the world.

Each numbered note is thoughtfully handwritten and offers reflections on universal topics such as love, peace, adversity, and courage. Then it is placed somewhere for a passerby to see – on a bathroom mirror, at a coffee shop, at a tourist location, anywhere. If just one of these notes can brighten someone’s day, then we’ve done our job.

This weeks gift is one of beautiful handwritten, inspirational card.

Seven-year-old Kindness Crusader Alexandrea Fullerton and her mom were cleaning out a toy room to convert it into her new bedroom when she had an idea. She decided to sell some of her toys to raise money for her local hospital, Pen Bay Medical Center, and foodbank, the Warren Food Pantry. “I just wanted to be nice,” she said. “[Hospitals] need money so they can buy masks and gloves so they’re safe.” So she and her mom took photos of some of her Barbies, doll furniture, and doll accessories and posted them for sale on Facebook Marketplace. Every time an item sales, they disinfect it and arrange contactless pickup. So far, Alexandrea has raised $60 which she has split evenly between the hospital and the food pantry. But she isn't finished! She plans to sell more of her toys and continue to, as she says, pay it forward.

Technical engineer Eric Threlkeld, UT, was shocked to learn his real estate agent, Jake Ball, and his wife were paying $550 a month to secure the life-saving insulin for their 7-year-old diabetic son.
+
Eric frequently travels to Mexico for his job and he knew the prescription drugs there are much cheaper. So the next time he travelled to Mexico, he brought back to the Ball family a number of insulin pens, the exact same brand, for only $13 each instead of the $110 they cost in the U.S.
+
And that was just the beginning. Together with his wife, Erica, they started using his extra airline miles to bring more of the affordable insulin and other medications. Recently, they founded a nonprofit, Medic(a)tion Found(a)tion, in help of all those affected by the high-cost prescription medication in the States.
+
“People in our country are being held hostage over the high price of insulin and other medications,” Eric commented. “If nothing else, we’re hoping that by starting the foundation, we’ll be bringing some awareness for change.”

As a parent, you want the best for your child, and one of your greatest hopes is that your child will grow up to be a good person. So, what makes a good person? Generally, we think about good people as being kind: those who are compassionate, empathetic, generous. However, it seems that, in our fast-paced, individual-driven society, kindness is fading and the pressure on parents to raise socially conscious, empathetic, and caring children can seem overwhelming at times.

Rachel Tomlinson draws from her professional experiences to provide 365 inspiring strategies to help children and families practice kindness every day of the year. An essential tool for parents, Teaching Kids to Be Kind will help children develop empathy, regulate their emotions, and improve their general well-being as well as support families in strengthening their overall relationships.

This weeks gift is Rachel’s new book, Teaching Kids to be Kind. A simple and sweet parenting book with 365 tips—a new one to try every day!

Share an act of kindness you’ve performed, with us. We will select the recipient Monday
