I’ve talked about how important post-workout nutrition is. But taking care of yourself mentally, outside of your nutrition and your gym routine, is just as important.
There are days I just wake up and I’m mentally off. That could be for a wide variety of reasons...I didn’t sleep well, my nutrition the day before was off, maybe I just had a bad lift. Regardless, I have to find a way to get back on track.
This can be listening to podcasts, jamming to music, writing stories or even playing video games. These are just some of the ways that I let my mind unwind and that I feel are healthy.
Not every day is going to be perfect and my progress won’t always go as fast as I want...but that’s okay. I know when I take care of myself mentally, I’ll get back on track and everything will be aight.
I guess what I’m trying to say is, on those days you feel off, find your outlet to help you unwind and hey..you may think you’ve lost that day but you learned some..don’t sweat it because you’ll kill the next one.
