They don’t require much irrigation. Cacti store water in its pads, which can be up to 95 percent liquid. Due to its low water needs, it thrives in harsh drought conditions.

It’s super easy to grow: The Opuntia Ficus Indica variety is not considered an alien noxious w**d. It needs a limited rainfall of just 400-500ml per annum and some selective irrigation to ensure regeneration for planting the cladodes is successful.
