Reminder that I'll be selling copies of all of my books at the Childers Festival this Sunday. I'll be set up in front of the Cultural Centre in the main street. It's a great day of food, entertainment and market stalls so come and check it out, and pop in and say g'day.
This morning's sketch and watercolour session over a cuppa while I waited for Teresa Brecknell to wake up is of my favourite beach. Trying out two different sketchbooks and how the watercolours interact with the paper. (The IRL pic included for context)
Tried a quick 10-minute sketch of some trees after watching yet another Youtube vid. I'm really enjoying the simplicity of his methods, and I'm having some fun just exploring watercolours again.
One of my favourite things about being an author is getting to read early chapters from some of my favourite authors (who also just happen to be my mates). This is another upcoming story from my mate and as usual, it's funny and witty and endearing, and I'm only two chapters in.
Bonus, coffee and banana bread from my fave little bookshop is the perfect accompaniment and so yummy on a cool winter morning.
All set up and ready to go at in Gladstone. It's a cracking sunshiney day, I've got all of my books available for sale, and have a cool giveaway thanks to the generosity of some of my sapphic author mates , and Jane Waterton.
Another motel room, another Pride Festival market day. If you're around the Gladstone (Qld, Aus) area, come down to from 11am today and say g'day and check out the other stalls and all the entertainment.
Gladstone!! I'm coming to this Saturday! Come down to the Gladstone Marina Parklands from 11am for some great entertainment and pop in to see me. I'll have copies of all of my books available for purchase. Can't wait to see you!
What an absolutely amazing weekend at the Gold Coast Pride Festival. Spending time with other authors is always exciting and and were fantastic stall buddies.
We got to chat to readers of all ages, and although it's taken me a few days to recover, I can't wait to do it all again next year.
Getting ready for Gold Coast Pride this weekend and picked up some roadtrip lollies. Can't go past Snakes Alive and the Party Mix is a good, solid go to, guaranteed to have something for everyone. Everyone in this case is me and one of my best friends, who is coming with me instead of my wife, who has been ruled out thanks to covid. What's your go to roadtrip lolly/snack?
It's been one of those days when I put the teabag in the mug around 9 this morning, walked past and boiled the kettle 4 times, but only now, just after 1pm, have I finally made my cuppa and sat down for a break.
Love doing a coffee run to Pic doesn't do the macadamia, white chocolate and caramel cookie justice. It. Is. Devine.
It's been over a decade since I last pulled these boots on. A new social competition has me excited to pull them on again along with .y goalie gloves, so I washed all of the decade-old dirt off and bought some new, comfy inner soles. It remains to be seen whether my feet remember what to do on the pitch.
Today's - cold brew latte from The words should be flying onto the page after this 🙂
How it started vs How it's going. I break up my easter eggs (or bunny, in this case) and put them in the fridge. Then, piece by piece, I devour it over the course of a week with a cold glass of milk. How do you eat your Easter haul? Happy Easter!!
Back at my local indie bookshop for some out-of-the-house writing time. Just shy of 1,000 words this morning fuelled by a latte and delicious banana bread.
A new story is brewing and starting to take shape. No title as yet but I'm hoping it will come to me while writing the first draft, like many of them do.
