Where I work- πŸ¦‹

Over the years the spare room in our home has served as a dining room, a bedroom and a general β€˜stuff’ room. However, in the last 3 years or so it has been repurposed into a bright creative workspace.

I tend to move things around and rethink my workspace a lot, depending on what project I’m working on.
Most recently I have cleared a space ready for my brand new printing press to arrive! 🀩

Exciting things to come !

Wildflower meadow commissioned piece of Kingsley meadows in Harrogate.

I wanted to explore the rich textures of the flowers throughout the meadow with the main focus on the foreground.

Why I like working in oils- πŸ‘©β€πŸŽ¨

There are lots of reasons why I favour oil paint. You can easily build layers and texture and achieve different results depending on how you apply it.

You can spend your time on a piece without the pressure of it drying too quickly. Unlike acrylic the paint stays true to colour once dry keeping its vibrancy.

I started practicing printmaking in 2014, I have always created my prints by hand.

I recently have placed an order for a new print press and I am eagerly awaiting it’s arrival!
