This year's 𝐁𝐈𝐎𝐖𝐄𝐄𝐊 has been really a fun moment for every biology student as they got to showcase their 𝙩𝙖𝙡𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙨 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙞𝙣𝙩𝙚𝙡𝙡𝙞𝙜𝙚𝙣𝙘𝙚. Even without the physical interaction, we can say that it has been a successful event as each section has participated vigorously in every competition.

With the theme “𝐋𝐀𝐊𝐁𝐈𝐎: 𝐏𝐚𝐠𝐥𝐢𝐩𝐚𝐝 𝐧𝐠 𝐇𝐢𝐫𝐚𝐲𝐚 𝐧𝐠 𝐍𝐚𝐤𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐚𝐧, 𝐌𝐚𝐠𝐛𝐢𝐠𝐚𝐲 𝐍𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐬𝐚 𝐒𝐩𝐞𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐬 𝐧𝐠 𝐊𝐚𝐬𝐚𝐥𝐮𝐤𝐮𝐲𝐚𝐧”, the event highlighted its purpose which is to provide fun and to de-stress the students and highlight the newly-identified species of the Philippines. Kudos to Polytechnic University of the Philippines' Society of Biology Students for the neat facilitation of the much-anticipated event.

We from BSBIO 1-5 congratulate our very classmates and other course mates for winning the games and other competitions, as well as those who have participated in the said events. We hope for another fun Bioweek but maybe in that time, with the physical interaction for an intense battle.

Will BNTM 1-5 make it on top? ✨

"7 Ikaw ay totoong maganda, sinta ko; at walang kapintasan sa iyo." (Awit ni Solomon 4:7). Nahulog mula sa langit, nauna ang paa kaya nailigtas ang mukha, Julie Anne S. Castro ang REINA ng nilalang na magaganda sa Bio 1-5 ng Collybia Reinakeana. Bawat isang tao na kasali sa patimpalak na ito ay may kaniya-kaniyang nararapat na dahilan upang magwagi ngunit paano nga ba natin masasabi na isang tunay na Reina/ Reyna ang isang babae?Ang isang kabute ayon sa siyensa ay malapit na kauri ng tao, nabubuhay ng walang ilaw at nagsisilbing ilaw ang ilan. Kasama ko sa pagkaluklok sa inaasam na puwesto ang mahigit 3 bilyong kababaihan na bumubuo ng 49.5 porsyento ng mahigit 7 bilyong populasyon sa mundo, at bilang babae ay ihahalintulad ko ang ang bawat isa sa amin sa Collybia Reinakeana, na sa pangalan pa lamang ay tunay na Reina (Reyna) kagaya ng munting nilalang na ito ay kayang mabuhay ng magisa sa dilim at tumayo para sa kanilang sarili kahit pang walang tulong sa sinumang lalaki. At dahil ito ay isang uri ng mushroom, mayroong 71 na species nagsisilbing liwanag sa madilim na landas na ginagamit noong unang panahon at ngayon sa ating buhay kagaya ng Diyos na siyang ilaw ng ating buhay at ating mga Ina na siyang ilaw ng tahanan. Narito ako upang malugod na itaas at ipaalam sa inyo na kaakibat ng puwestong ito ang pagkakakilanlan ng mga kababaihan na siyang reyna ng kani-kanilang buhay at bilang simbolo ng buhay, liwanag, katatagan at katapangan sa bawat bansa. Ito ang liwanag na dala ko na siyang magbibigay ilaw sa kaibahan ko sa mga katunggali na narito Sa huli, ako at ang 3,905, 212, 950 na kababaihan ay iisa sa pagkakataong ito na nagsusulong ng aming karapatan, kagitingan, kalayaan at kahusayan sa anumang larangan na siyang reyna dito sa mundo."
