SOME HAVE ASKED WHY THE BLOCK WAS UNDEMOCRATIC! Because our elected officials, our voices, are not going to be heard. The lobbyist KNEW we would win! So, The block came at an evening meeting of the Committee on Rules. Now it will not be discussed by our representatives as it should have been. They denied us the right to have our voices heard through our Congressmen/women!
That's why this is UNDEMOCRATIC.
Now, we must contact our Senators daily and be polite...trust us, the lobbyists are not only contacting them, but giving them misinformation about starving wild horses, degraded ranges, and more. Send them pictures if you can...you can use ours.

BI-PARTISAN AMENDMENT MAY SAVE OVER 40,000 WILD HORSES IN HOLDING AND ON THE RANGE
New Amendment offered to abolish slaughter of healthy wild horses and burros.
(RICHMOND, VA. August 25, 2017) A new Amendment is being introduced to the House Appropriations Bill that may help save our wild horses and burros from the potential inhumane slaughter of tens of thousands. Representatives, Dina Titus, (D--NV), Pete King, (R--NY) and Jared Polis (D--CO) will be introducing an amendment to Division A of the Rules. The Amendment PROHIBITS the slaughter of healthy, unadopted wild horses or burros in the care of the Bureau of Land Management or its contractors.
After the secretive, one-sided, closed door meetings held in Salt Lake City this week, this news gives hope to wild horse advocates who have provided tried and proven solutions to the BLM for over a decade. Slaughter could be off the table if Representative Titus-King-Polis Amendment passes.
Cloud Foundation Volunteer Exe. Dir. stated, “Our thanks go out to Representatives Titus, King, & Polis for riding to the rescue of 1,000’s of vulnerable animals in holding & on western ranges.” Ms. Kathrens, who serves as the Humane Advocate on the BLM National Wild Horse & B***o Advisory Board, was not invited to the SLC meetings but appeared at a press conference on the street outside the secretive event, stated, “Finally there is hope on the horizon.”
“The BLM’s failed management of wild horses and burros on the range should not result in the death of the very equids that legally should have been protected,” states Lisa Friday, TCF Board Member & Communications Director for the Foundation. “The BLM bureaucratic mismanagement in Washington should receive an extreme overhaul that allows for the tried and proven population control method of darting with PZP.”
The Cloud Foundation urges all Americans to contact their Senators and Representatives to assist in getting this amendment passed.

Safety is number one on the importance list, when rescuing an animal. This c**t is either badly injured and unable to get up, or something else is contributing to that. We so appreciated LRTC's Technical Large Animal Rescue Team: Kevin McCoy, Cynthia Ashe, Nadine Hastings and Willis Lamm. Combined with wild horse trainer Cindy Hartzell and Bruce Hartzell DVM, we look forward to great care.
In this photo the team is carefully placing a strap around the young stallions neck to have the ability to lie him down and administer a tranquilizer to calm him and prepare him for travel. The c**t (Deb Walker and I are debating if this c**t is Pistol or Hardy) She always wins but I am putting up a good argument.
This incredible photo shows how careful and slow the team works. The horse is unable to get up on his own and the calm energy of the well trained team, help him remain calm and not seem too concerned.
In the background is the person assigned to safety. Her purpose is to watch for any risk or violation of safety procedures. ... including photographers who get too close! She earned the title of Safety N**i.. :-) She has a very important job.
The suspicion is that the young stallion may be suffering from West Nile Virus and lost the use of his hind legs. Blood tests are being done and results should be back on Tuesday. When the BLM Vet sees him Monday, he will further examine him.
Tonight he is still down but eating and drinking on a bed of shavings.

THE ELKO DIST. BLM IN NV WANTS TO REMOVE OVER 6,700 WILD HORSES:
The horses at the Antelope and Triple B Complexes have over 3 million acres to roam (400 acres per horse)--doesn't that seem like enough? Apparently, the BLM doesn't think so.

3-Support the SAFE Act (HR 113), a bi-partisan act that permanently bans horse slaughter in the US & the transport of horses to slaughter.
4) Add your personal comment--why this is inhumane, why our wild horses are important to you, why they are important to all Americans as an integral part of our national heritage.
5-Restate your name & city. Thank them for taking your call.
