๐ฟ๐จ Grasshoppers Wreaking Havoc? Here's What You Need to Know! ๐จ๐ฟ
Grasshoppers may seem harmless, but they can cause significant damage to your lawn and garden. Don't let these pests ruin your hard work! Hereโs how grasshoppers can affect your outdoor space:
1. Vegetable Gardens: Grasshoppers are notorious for devouring leafy greens, tomatoes, beans, and other vegetables. A severe infestation can wipe out your entire crop.
2. Flower Beds: These pests are not picky eaters. Theyโll munch on your beautiful flowers, leaving unsightly holes and stunted growth.
3. Young Trees and Shrubs: Grasshoppers can strip young trees and shrubs of their leaves, slowing their growth and making them more susceptible to disease.
4. Lawn Damage: They can also feed on grass, causing brown patches and thinning your lush, green lawn.
5. Crop Destruction: For those with larger gardens or farms, grasshoppers can cause extensive damage to crops, affecting yield and profitability.

If youโre noticing signs of grasshopper damage, itโs time to take action! Contact Spring Pest and Lawn for expert advice and effective solutions to keep your garden and lawn thriving.

๐ฑ๐ฆ Hey Cache Valley residents, it's Spring Pest and Lawn here with some top-notch tips to keep your lawns looking lush and green all season long! ๐ Here's how to nail your watering game:
1. Timing is Key: Water your lawn in the early morning to reduce evaporation and give your grass ample time to absorb moisture before the heat of the day sets in.
2. Deep Soak, Less Often: Aim for deep watering sessions rather than frequent shallow ones. This encourages strong root growth and drought resistance. Your lawn will thank you for it!
3. Know Your Lawn's Thirst: Different grass types have different watering needs. Make sure you're giving your specific turf variety the right amount of water. Unsure? We're here to help!
4. Sprinkle Smart: Check your sprinkler system regularly to ensure it's working efficiently. Adjust the settings to avoid watering sidewalks and driveways, and consider upgrading to a smart irrigation system for optimal water usage.
5. Stay Ahead of the Game: Keep an eye on the weather forecast and adjust your watering schedule accordingly. Mother Nature might just give you a helping hand!

The swarm season for bees has started. If you see a cluster of bees hanging on a limb (or other object), you need a beekeeper, not an exterminator, flamethrower, water hose, or bug spray. Please call a beekeeper, your county extension, office local beekeeping club or a similar organization.
Side note: Swarms are quite literally homeless bees. As such, they are not defending a hive, and are usually quite docile. But that does not mean you should mess with them unless you know what you are doing. Leave it to the experienced folks. And if you see a beekeeper running, please get out of the way, and do try to keep up.
