Architecture for cats!

As part of a full refurb for a house in North London, we are creating a cat play area on the staircase within the space.  

Cats need architects too! 

 

A warm palette of locally sourced materials – bronze, cork, polished plaster and cream limestone offset against either timber or terrazzo floors. The result is modern but understated, allowing the building’s historic proportions to take centre stage.

The homeowners wanted to revive and reconfigure their three-storey Hampstead House and reconnect it with its surrounding greenery. The alterations resulted in bringing the house up to a modern, energy efficient standard, suitable for the needs of a growing family.

Previously, the home was a sequence of adjoining spaces knitted together with dark corridors. By creating a series of internal spaces that draw in natural light from the house’s lush surroundings we opened up the space and united the inside and the outside.

When it comes to conversational areas and adding value to your property, glass sliding doors are a simple and visually appealing solution that will improve the flow of the home and can elevate any room.

Pictured here is The Orangery House, where we modernised the earlier extension and created an open-plan living space that's also warm and inviting.
The east facing sliding doors allow the morning sunlight to reach deep into the house, blurring the boundary between inside and outside. By locating the dining area into the extension allows the family to enjoy the garden at all times of year.
