I’m a storyteller. That's my everyday Impact.
So what better way to share my Iconic USA project than through what to me—is a heartbreaking story, but with incredible potential for profound change.
One nasty-hot August day, I was driving to town and noticed along the highway a gorgeous patch of Indian Blanket—Oklahoma’s state flower.
Since May 1986, the Indian blanket has served as a symbol of Oklahoma's scenic beauty and rich Indian heritage.
But back to my story…
Barreling towards those gorgeous, life-sustaining flowers were a trio of Godzilla-sized mowers.
I literally gasped. And then said out loud in my car—surely they’re not planning on mowing those down?
By the time I finished running errands, those flowers, my friends, were a memory.
And so my Iconic mission began…
With small steps toward what I envision becoming a GRAND endeavor.
I see making Oklahoma’s 30,000 lane miles of highways an international SUPERBLOOM destination.
This isn’t a short-term project, but one that will last long after my reign by inspiring lasting change.
Even better? By protecting Oklahoma’s wildflowers, we’re also fostering love for our pollinators and creating an ecological destination paradise.
While I tackle miles of bureaucracy, I’m also sponsoring Clean & Spreads! Cleaning roadsides of trash, and then spreading them with 85,000 Wildflower seeds.

LEGEND OF THE INDIAN BLANKET MAKER
The legend tells of an old Indian blanket maker whose talent for weaving produced such beautiful blankets that other Indians would travel many miles to trade for one. The old blanket maker had never taken an apprentice and when he realized that he had only a short time left, he began weaving his own burial blanket. It blended his favorite browns, reds, and yellows into the beautiful patterns for which he was so famous.
In time, the old man died and his family dutifully wrapped him in
this blanket, which was to be his gift to the Great Spirit when they met. The Great Spirit was very pleased because of the beauty of the gift but also saddened because He realized that only those in the Happy Hunting Ground would be able to appreciate the old blanket maker’s beautiful creation. So, He decided that He would give this gift back to those that the old Indian had left behind.
The spring following the old man’s death, wildflowers of the colors and design of the old Indian’s blanket appeared in profusion upon his grave ... to bloom and spread forever.

Welcome Rebecca to the team! She was trained at the New York City campus of the American Musical and Dramatic Academy in the conservatory program and continued to finish the Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Musical Theater out in Los Angeles in 2015. Rebecca has stage managed and choreographed numerous state and national pageants. She has been in numerous productions including being a soloist at Lincoln Center, portraying Shelby in an equity production of Steel Magnolias and a Principle Dancer in a national SAG commercial with Wayne Brady.

I had a wonderful time serving as a judge yesterday for the 2021-2022 Oklahoma Czech-Slovak Royalty Pageant. That trophy I am pictured with is my 1st runner-up trophy from 1998! (photo in comments). These young people were incredibly impressive with their knowledge of their Czech-Slovak heritage, and it was commendable to see so many actively involved in partaking in Czech-Slovak customs such as dance & cooking. The winners will be announced this weekend during the Oklahoma Czech Festival 2021. I am so excited for this weekend’s parade! 🇨🇿❤️
