Over Thanksgiving break I went to Las Vegas again and checked out the TaylorMade experience store. While I was there I met Shane Madden an instructor at Eric Meeks golf. He gave me some great golf tips! I could quickly tell that Shane loves what he does and knows what he's talking about. Next time I'm in Vegas I'm definitely going to book a lesson with Shane. www.ericmeeksgolf.com

Sorry I haven't posted anything in a while but it's hot in AZ right now!

Had a golf lesson today with Kay from Ocotillo Golf Course. Her main feedback was that I am too tense.
She gave me some things to work on:
1) Brush the grass - This is where I do short swings back and forth brushing the grass. This is meant to help relax my arms, and I should try to feel an even pressure of both hands on the club.
2) Orange Whip - Kay suggested I get an orange whip, but I can also use my aiming sticks. Something to swing back and forth with a full swing and get used to a tension-free swing.
3) Swing without a club - Take a normal grip, get in posture, and then drop the club. Do a full swing without the club. This also tends to teach me to be more relaxed throughout the swing.
Other tips:
-Put a 2x4 on the ground in front of my ball. I tend to hit the 2x4 directly on takeaway because I've been trying to take the club to the outside on the way back.
-Use a normal arc on the take away, and don't have the stiff, club face looking at the ball type of takeaway because that causes me to tense up, and get off balance.
Loudest hole in Golf! #16 at the Waste Management Open.
Golf Channel Pro Am event at Raven Verrado Golf Club
You know when you get that feeling when you think you've just figured something out with your golf swing? I had that feeling the other day. I was at the driving range at Whirlwind and I had a certain swing thought that was awesome. I was hitting it solid and right at the target. Sadly, these moments come and go like the wind! :)
Played Wildfire the Faldo course today. It was a nice course, lots of bunkers. I didn't play so well, shot an 88...looks like I need to head back to the range. It was a beautiful day, mid 70's here in Phoenix.
Quintero golf course in AZ!
Just went golfing at Lanai, Hawaii. What an experience! I took a ferry over from Maui and golfed both Experience at Koele and Challenge at Manele. The day started out windy and cold but ended up being nice by the time we played the Manele course. I would definitely recommend going...I will post pics soon!
After a few weeks off from seeing Jeff Ritter, my swing looked horrible. He fixed me up though. :)
I went from a 90 on Saturday at Cattail to a 77 on Sunday on the same course! WTF??? You gotta love this game! :)
Latest golf lesson from Jeff Ritter
The closest to a hole in one I'll probably ever get! :(
Saturday at Club West, shot an 80. Since it was from the white tees that was just an OK score, not enough to win anything from the men's club I'm in.
Played last weekend at Silver Creek Golf Course up in Show Low, AZ. The course is in excellent shape but watch out for the quick greens, they will add some strokes to your score.
Played golf with my bro in Logan, Utah at Logan River Golf Course. I shot an 89 which isn't too bad for me considering I was using borrowed clubs and wearing tennis shoes. :)
A friend of mine help developed the Golf Digest GPS app for Android http://android.golfdigestgps.com/ I think I'll download and check it out!

It's monsoon season in Arizona so it's hot and muggy. I think I might just go to the PGA Superstore this weekend and work on my swing in the hitting bays.
