Apart from women empowering women let’s not lose the true meaning behind this movement where the basic human rights as a woman are extremely devalued to the women in Turkey (where violence against women is one of the highest in the world). Empowering each other is absolutely beautiful but the true meaning behind this movement is so important and powerful. Let’s take this moment to remind our selves and your sisters to be grateful we’re still alive and that YOUR PRESENCE ON EARTH makes a difference whether you see it or not. Don’t take advantage of it. Let’s truly be there for each other and lift each other up so we all can create a table where we all can sit at! Praise and hold your sister accountable!

When the pandemic is over, I hope there is true representation of Black dance going forward. It’s disappointing continuously seeing the uneducated, no substance, and privileged folks dominating the field (in my eyes). From changing my original path in dance, further investing and expanding my dance pallet.. I still pray that the tokenism in ballet is finally dealt with. From the home studios, companies, university curriculums, as well as grants, commission, and administration, adding racial diversity and access, change should be a necessity. Across the board, at every level! NOW! Let’s make it better for us & our future artists.
