WHO WE ARE

Another year has passed rather quickly, but within that time frame, there have been some wonderful changes.

BRE has transformed from a small committee of the Royal Canadian Legion to an independent non-profit organization. Although the method of creating food access has changed, the mission has been unwavering.

What has NOT changed:
Anyone who attends food events pay what they can.
Anyone in need can contact us and we will fill that need.

A special thank you goes out to businesses and individuals who consistently collaborate with BRE to ensure food access:

Wendy Goudie, Sparkle Dance Academy
Mel and Dana, Bear River Grocery
Jon and Erin, Sissiboo Coffee
Oakdene Center
Bonnie MacLeod
Charlie Richard
Wendy Richard-Mount

A huge applause goes out to everyone who contributed to the Family Gala Fundraiser at Foresters Hall in November. In excess of $1000.00 was raised after costs and was divided between BRE and Foresters Hall to build a playground.

Thank you to the vendors who participated in the June Walk-a-Thon, and to the volunteers who baked for the bake table.

Thank you to the volunteers who cooked and served at our ham dinner. Thank you to Cyndi Vidito for showing up to cook on short notice.

Thank you to those who use the BRE donation jars around town.

Thank you to Jason who has placed the donation jars in BR and in Annapolis Royal, and who has picked up and delivered food. We appreciate his dedication.

Thank you to Margaret Lagan for always rising to the occasion.

Thank you to everyone who helped with the Cherry Carnival Float. It was our first ever and we hope to continue this community presence.

Thank you to ALL those who donated their time and resources to support this community service, including out of town businesses.

To contact us for any reason, we can be reached through sending a message through this page.

If you have any ideas as to how we can better serve the community, or if you would like to volunteer, then we can certainly use your skills and expertise. We are currently looking for a new coordinator.

And lastly, I apologize if I have forgotten to mention anyone. Feel free to add to the list in the comments.

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year from BRE.
