Africa Data Foundation
Our Vision: Placing Africa at the forefront of data utilization for the well-being of its people, provide a more formidable method of collecting data in a meaningful way, and feed a data brain for governments (policymakers), institutions (educational, religious, financial), businesses/ organizations/ entrepreneurs, and communities.
Pic story: March 30, 2023: A monumental day in Austin as we joined forces with the iconic DJ Patil, , the first Chief Data Scientist of the US, at the Data Council. Under John Oshodi's .oshodi visionary leadership alongside ADF Advisers - Chukuka Chukuma () and Tagbo Azubike (), the ADF Team continues to break new grounds. 📊🚀
My warrior Princess is 13. She is now a teenager. I’m not sure where the time went but I’m grateful I have been ever present and attendant to your every need since birth.
I waited years for your arrival and once you landed you were tagged the ‘game changer’. I was intent on bonding with you in your formative years and am glad we are now inseparable.
As you enter the next phase of life much is expected of you. I am proud of all your accomplishments this far and look forward to even more as your best years are ahead.
Keep seeking the Lord’s guidance. Remain a bibliophile and keep thirsting for knowledge. In your sporting endeavors keep the competitive spirit and reach for even greater heights in your chosen sports. In all things keep striving for excellence.
May the Lord’s favour and mercy be abundant in your life and may He be the architect that guides your every step. Be the light in every dark situation you find yourself in.
Know this - we love you more than you will ever know or comprehend. That love is unconditional and judgement free so please always confide in us regardless of what circumstance you find yourself in.
Happy birthday to my princess!
I’ve always loved movies. Combining my love for film and deep understanding for finance led me to build a competency in film financing.
Hollywood movies have featured scenes supposedly shot in Nigeria, or about Nigeria, like Black Panther’s opening scene which claimed to be shot in Sambisa Forrest. We know that wasn’t the case.
Nigeria needs to create the right government and tax incentive policies. This will enable us be considered as a serious destination worthy of foreign film financing. When big budget movies are greenlight for production by studios, these government policies and tax incentives are part of what drives the decision to go shoot on location in certain places.
We need to create the enabling environment and legislation that ensures that going forward, these sorts of movies are shot on location in Nigeria.
We need to upskill the entire ecosystem and have the skilled labour that doesn’t need foreign talent support to make larger productions a reality.
Time is not on our side and the competitive wars are being fueled by demand for content across the globe. In Africa, South Africa, Morocco, Kenya, Rwanda and others are making strides to enhance the competitiveness of their film and creative sectors. Even Ghana, next door is as well.
These are some of the reasons why is so important. The Creatives Industries Development Bill will bring to life all of the above and more as well as significant financing for ALL creatives. Yes ALL who identify as a creative will benefit. The intention is to leave no one behind - no ‘man know man’ in this one!
Grateful to be working on this with a team of brilliant minds from several disciplines led by . It’s a true collaboration between the government and the private sector.

Today was spent campaigning for my friend, Salman Bhojani. I find Salman to be humble, focused, personable, family oriented, passionate and a respectable business man. He seems to be a true servant leader.
In 2018, Salman made national headlines when he was elected to the Euless City Council, becoming the first Muslim American to hold elected office in Euless. He went on to become the Mayor Pro Tem.
Salman was elected Democratic Nominee for House District 92 and (with your help) when he wins in November, he will be the first Muslim and first South Asian ever elected to the Texas legislature. He will also be the first person of color ever elected to represent House District 92.
So in support my wife and I visited 52 Homes dropping off election materials ahead of early voting which starts Monday 24th October.
If you are registered to vote and live in District 92, this is who to vote for.
Wherever you live please take any sort of civic action that helps to improve the quality of leaders who represent us at all levels of government. Be active in your community and shave off notions of voter apathy.
Every vote counts and many died for you to have this right so don’t take it for granted.
My mother @ 90
Thank you for all your goodwill messages. This is a response from Mrs. Teresa E. Chukuma to all her well wishers.
We had just come back from church on Sunday and she was so nicely dressed (as usual) so we thought it made sense to prepare a thank you message to all of you.
Tales about our Matriarch: My Mother
I’m tickled anytime I see this particular picture. It was taken in West Palm Beach Florida. This glam photo signifies the first time I saw my mother with make up on.
The story goes that she first went to the hair dressers at 46 yrs old! Yes she was a full grown adult when she decided to check out a beauty parlor.
I guess when you KNOW you are a natural beauty with a bright light shinning from within you then you don’t need all that.
Till date I have only seen her one other time with make up on and it was negligible.
Anyway, I say all this to say that my mama is the definition of . She truly is gorgeous inside and out. I see why my Dad had to wife her. Talk about being the girl with brains. He sold her her first car and consequently didn’t give her much room to consider other suitors…story for another post.
She is the OG of the now popularized
Happy birthday Mama. You continue to make us proud and we are glad to be associated with you.
Stories inspired by the yester-years
I don’t know how old you are or what culture you come from but growing up these slippers were’nt just slippers. They were also considered a shoe because it could be worn to church. But it represented so much.
It’s versatility is worthy of it being added to a museum for being one of the most multipurpose inventions of 1900s.
As I saw the image pop up on my screen my reflex was to duck...they call that muscle memory. I’m not kidding because this thing has been thrown at me countless times as a child and always seemed to find its target 🎯 like a guided missile.
The flight behavior of this projectile in flight would often times change direction like a knuckle ball.
When my mother threw it somehow it always hit its mark no matter how hard I tried to get out of its flight path. She threw it with measured anger, spin, power and precision and that thing would cut through the atmosphere of ill will and be delivered like an Amazon delivery - guaranteed to always arrive on time. She would do this in her even toned stern voice while educating me on my flawed decision making process.
Reminds me of when George Bush Jr dodged not one but two trajectory boots lunged at him with great accuracy. Had my mother thrown her this secret weapon George’s way, our former President and proud Texan would have had no chance against the device which would be under the influence of a gravitational field and force being guided to its intended target.
I feel strongly that if woman wrote the Bible there might have been a story or two in there about a woman who struck down two would be rapists with a predecessor to this wondrous weapon made out of mahogany wood. All we have if the story of David that killed Goliath with his sling shot.
If you don’t gerrit then forget aboureet.
Post Vacinne Stories...
I don't like the cold and I hate shovelling snow!
I lived in NYC in the 1990s and for all the love I got in my journey to becoming a bonified New Yorker, there was one thing I hated - the cold 🥶.
In 2000 I decided i had enough of the fridgid temperatures 4 months in a year. I craved sunshine 24/7. I wanted to be around 'my people', eat plantains all day, enjoy my aging mother and help to build Nigeria 🇳🇬. So I was out.
In 2015 our oldest kid had grown and university was only a few years away. It seemed like a fair request that I agree to my Belizean-American beauties request to return to the US to live closer to her family. It would also allow the kids some exposure to the US educational system.
I only had one request when we my wife made her case to leave Lagos. I said "Darling I don't like the cold and will not shovel snow till I die. Wherever you choose please remember this otherwise you can live anywhere you want." She agreed.
A detailed spreadsheet was built After, I glanced at it and saw Atlanta, Dallas, Austin, LA and a few other places - all warm climate - so I was down with the choices. After trips to do 'look and see' she confirmed Dallas would be the new home for she and the kids with me shuttling back and forth from Lagos.
I asked "Does it snow in Dallas" to which she replied "No hun". So I was good and she was elated.
We've been here 6 years now and the first 4 years during winter there was a flurry with less than an inch of snow ❄. So I was like this is awesome because I don't like the cold and will not need to shovel snow.
Please tell me why when I decided to join them and be based out of Dallas the last 2 years we are getting our second ice storm. Like wtf 😒! I feel like I have been scammed.
I'm not happy at all. This is skme bs y'all. Someone send me an electric blanket, milo (aka hot chocolate) and nido to appease me.
I am not surprised by the endless announcement of variants, booster shots and 24/7 global news coverage of C-19-20-21-infinity.
Be honest, if you found a business that required 7.4bn people to pay you would you not find away to make it recurring? How else do boys get to be gazilliomaires.
This whole virus vs anti virus scam started in IT. Remember Y2K? Biggest made up global scam ever. Lowly paid IT folks said “when the clocks end if we don’t get paid a trillion $, all hell will break loose”.
Jan 1, 2000 was a regular day with all IT people now kings of the world. IT budgets in all major firms grew astronomically overnight and CTOs became very important people joining EXCOs. Before Y2K IT people were at best managers. Contracting was the only job for them.
Since then all sorts of virus companies have set up business to ensure that you and I keep paying Norton, Macafee and the rest monthly protection money. Every other month, a business that doesn’t pay for ‘protection’ will be featured on news. Something along the lines of loosing critical customer data due to data breach. That sounds like neighborhood thugs that you pay to ensure they themselves don’t rob you.
In 2020 however it is the original drug dealers in coats with PhDs. They making new variants of Corona (that they cooked in lab 🥼) so that those stubborn people they call anti vaccers will give up and go get the jab. The booster shot is just more money for the white coat drug dealers. They are using the media to create mass hysteria on a per second basis.
If you are famous and say anything about natural herbs or not wanting to take the shot, they will focus on you for a week and ask why you use your platform to spread ‘lies’.
Angel Gabriel please go ahead and blow this trumpet so we can end this s**t show. Who is the person yet to hear about Jesus Christ delaying the end of the world.
On a separate note dear God why is heaven always in need of angels (aka good people dying early)? Isn’t the devil also in need of some of his agents of doom who have done enough wickedness to last 2 lifetimes. Can 👿 also start recalling them home to be with him before year end.
today.
We are very excited to be able to offer those that wear cap and gown and like to argue for a living an opportunity of a lifetime. All you have to do is apply and you could be on your way to ‘the abroad’ from anywhere in Africa.
Good luck 👍. If you are successful remember you are representing your family name, city, school, tribe, country, religion and entire continent. Represent us well so our new partners will ask for even more amazing candidates just like you. In other words ‘show dem’ that ‘Africa no dey carry last’.

Since our incorporation in 2012, 90% of our interns have been retained after their internship with our partner firms. What makes them different from other interns? Our training programme!!!
Last Friday, we concluded our 2-week in-country (Ghana) training programme and our 2020/21 interns are well equipped to start their careers with the requisite skills and mindset.
Over the course of the training programme, our interns went through modules like Effective Business Communication, Professional Mindset, Microsoft Office training, Financial Modelling, group projects etc. to prepare them to excel in our partner firms.
Our "Industry Insight Event" sessions had professionals such as John Gadzi, MD of Sentinel Global, Ibukun Adebayo from Genser Energy and Yaw Sampong of Injaro Investment. They were crucial resources in giving our interns insight into various industries and the quality of excellence.
The interns also received fine dining and networking skills training, which are essential to their professional development.

The female children are just as important as male children. Many societies do not reach their full potential when girls are seen as less than their male counterparts. Today is therefore a special day worth celebrating girls all around the word.
Every girl is a flower that must be watered and handled with extreme care so they can blossom manifesting into something so beautiful.

It’s 2020 and we are in a pandemic. Though we thought the world might be ending, we also thought to ourselves this is the best time to launch a book and the book has in turn birthed a podcast. We thought this was the best time because people were (some are still) locked up at home and bored out of their minds.
A lot of employees lost their jobs and have been forced to transition from intrapreneurs to entrepreneurs just to make ends meet. Entrepreneurs in particular are scrambling to find ways to keep their companies afloat.
The *In Pursuit Podcast* is our gift to entrepreneurs everywhere. We want you to know, you are not alone. This podcast is inspired by the book ‘In Pursuit - Journeys in African Entrepreneurship’ Co-authored by Chukuka Chukuma (‘Chukuka’) and Osaretin Oswald Guobadia (‘Osaretin’). Jumoke Adekunle (‘Jumoke’) joins the dynamic duo in this podcast as she brings a much needed feminine perspective. Together, they share stories of their personal transition from being intrapreneurs to entrepreneurs in very different industries.
The podcast starts before the vaccine was found and continues as we enter the new world – post covid era.
Over time it will feature notable guests to further enrich conversations on specific topics. This podcast is both pleasurable and profitable. It is chilled but informative.
Our goal is to equip entrepreneurs with actionable knowledge that is sure fuel their entrepreneurial pursuits.

This is my mother!
She means so much to me. She is indeed a bright North Star in the constellations of great people that I look up to for guidance. At 88 her love still amazes me. She sent me a big Father’s Day box complete with card. Here is a text from her 2 days ago.
Her WhatsApp message:
“Son good morning. Please have a safe journey to Houston and remember to call us when you arrive. I would advise you put some bottles of water in the car and may be a packet of biscuits!! I know you’ll be okay. You have been on that road many times. Please drive safely and
forgive your mummy preaching as usual !!! You know, once a teacher, always a teacher !!! Love you ! May God lead you and back!”
My Response:
“Thank you Ma. But it is funny that you give such advice to an almost 50 year old man with a 6 foot 2 inch baby of his own. I guess this is what motherhood truly is...eternal maternal care. I appreciate the love. Now please remember to take good care of yourself for me, hydrate as summer is here and don't let anything in your past worry you as you have the best days ahead of you”.
This is the relationship I have with my mother who remains my original first ❤️.
