Heavenly Father,

Help us to recognize our shortcomings and turn our hearts back to you. As we receive the ashes upon our foreheads, may they serve as a reminder of our mortality and the need for repentance.

We offer our prayers and sacrifices to you, O Lord, trusting in your mercy and grace. May your love and presence sustain us throughout this season and beyond.

Interact story:

Stuart Gibson..the pleasure of giving comes to those who do it by heart.” I was privilege to have been invited by a family of Ratarian, Diomari a friend of mine encourage me to join Interact Club of Pili Centro before it was even launched as a club last July 18, 2017. He said that joining Interact will allow me experience activities for the youth, health and environment.
At first, I joined the club simply because I wanted to meet new friends, as a young boy then, having lots of friends has already buzzes the kid in me, later that I know Interact is not only about adding new friends on Facebook it is about helping the community. The first activity which I participated was the income generating project of the club, we thought of putting up a food stall near the church so as we can sell fish ball and drinks. Luckily, we were able to collect ample amount to provide school supplies in Sagrada Elementary School, conducted feeding program, tree planting and lots more comes after.
One of the most unforgettable experience I had as an Interactor was when we distributed school supplies and relief goods to typhoon devastated community in Buhi, Camarines Sur. It enlightens my mind to the reality of life that the pleasure of giving comes to those who do it by heart.
Despite the fact that I am a working student in one of the biggest food chain the country, I still manage to do public service and this drives me to love what we are doing in the club. For me, interact club helps youth to be aware of what is happening in the community, to promote good and positive public service without expecting for any returns, especially now that we are facing this pandemic lots of people are suffering, we have to stand for them, bring hopes to their lives and be able to change the world one step at a time.

"My Journey as a member of Rotary"

What is Rotary? What are they doing? These were just some questions I had when I learned that my parents are members of the Rotary organization. I was in grade school when I first witnessed my parents being involved in the activities of Rotary. As the youngest among four siblings, I was never separated from my parents— I was always with them wherever they went. I remembered accompanying them every time they attended district events; sleeping in the hotel as I waited for the event to be concluded is something I enjoyed. I have always enjoyed being with them, especially when they travel to beautiful places. Aside from the perks of travelling, I also loved and enjoyed being involved in every rotary activity, not just in meetings but also in their charity works. For me, those things are what make my love for accompanying my parents wherever they go, including partaking in their activities in Rotary, worthwhile.
Fast forward to when the year of "Rotary Making a Difference" came. Tita Mary Ann Asay, the President, approached me and asked me if I was willing to be the charter president of the Interact Club of Pili Centro. At first, I was hesitant to accept Tita Mary Ann's offer because of my studies. But since I saw and experienced the beauty that a Rotarian does to other people, I accepted her invitation. When I became the president of the Interact Club of Pili Centro, that was the time when I truly found the answer to the questions: What is Rotary, and what are they doing?
Being under the Rotary Club of Pili Centro, as a member of the Interact Club, I learned to embed the importance of "service above self" in my heart. I realized that rotary is not just a group; it is a community with members who have a heart for service. It is an organization that shares the same purpose— providing service to people around them who need their help. In my journey as a member of Interact, a club under Rotary for children, I found what I love the most: doing humanitarian works. It has always been a fulfilling experience when you see the faces of the people you offer something lit up and see a hint of admiration as they look at you, smiling. Additionally, I always have my Interact members, who also became a family, in my journey in this organization, which makes it more fun for me to be a member of Interact Club. Overall, it has always been an honor to be part of this loving community.
