First off I want to thank everyone that supported me in this Election. Your kind words and VOTES were unbelievable!! Thank you to Mike Naylor and Larry Howard for being willing to serve this community!! I’m so excited for the opportunity to serve District 5,the Attalla City Board of Education, and the great students, faculty,and administration of The Attalla City School system.

All of my college bound supporters or anyone who just isn’t sure they want to vote with the masses on Election Day. I have good news! Secretary of State, John Merrill has extended the opportunity for any AL resident concerned about COVID-19 to apply for an absentee ballot for the upcoming municipal elections on August 25th.

You can pick up an absentee ballot application at Attalla City Hall or use the link below to download the form. If you do not have access to a printer, please let me know and I will print the absentee ballot application and deliver it to your home.

Thank you to all that have personally reached out to me with support and encouragement during this election process. Being born and raised as a Blue Devil is something we take much much pride in. My love for this school system,students, and community is why we chose to educate our children in the Attalla City School System. The impact that it had on Our lives is something we wanted our sons to experience. Let’s continue to make Attalla School System great. This evening as we are recovering from our various Independence Day celebrations (even if it is just from eating a little too much or hearing fireworks until 2:00 a.m.), I just want to say how thankful I am to live in a free country where we have the opportunity to choose representation, all the way down to the little old local Board of Education offices. On August 25, 2020, I would be thrilled to know you are voting for me for Attalla City Board of Education, District 5. However, regardless of who you plan to vote for, get out there and let your voice be heard. Now is the time to make sure you are registered to vote and that your registration is current. I have attached a link that you can use to check to see if your voter registration is up to date. District 5 is basically the Camp Sibert neighborhood but also includes some of the areas that are on the outskirts of the camp. Under the social distancing and "Safer at Home" order that the state is currently in, campaigning will most likely look differently than it has in the past. I will be making the rounds around the neighborhood and when I get by to see you I will keep my distance and wear a mask if it makes you feel more comfortable. My main objective in running for this office is to have a hand in providing as many opportunities as possible to help ALL children enrolled in Attalla City Schools to achieve success as students, and ultimately as adults. My name is Joey Nance and I am running for Attalla City Board of Education, District 5. I am proud product of the Attalla City School System, as is my wife, Dana, and three sons, Peyton, Britain, and Bennett (current student). I have lived in this district for most of my life and I am excited about the opportunity to serve our students, faculty, parents, and community in a different role than I have performed in the past. I have been blessed over the past 20+ years to be involved with the youth of Attalla in athletics- as a coach and as Booster Club President for our Blue Devil Football organization. I enjoy being a servant to our young students and their families and would appreciate the chance to serve them in education as well. I cannot make any promises, however if I am blessed to win this election, my main goal will be to do what is best for the students, teachers, and administrators of our school system. I would greatly appreciate your support in August!
